freak.... he love every thing about it/.. is my kid the only one on the disney boards..

how come the disney world or disneyland promote it like they do other things? it would be great if they had club penguin characters, or rides just a thought..

We saw Club Penguins in the MK this summer. Where you enter the park on Main Street, they have characters out in the morning. I remember seeing them and wondering aloud if they were in a recent movie, and DS realized that's who they were.

You may have seen the penguins from mary poppins. I asked at Guest Relations in Sept and was told there are no CP characters making any appearances anywhere in WDW. My 8yr old dd is also in love with CP and it is hard to find merchandise for her.

The Club Penguin character Rockhopper made a special appearance at Hollywood Studios last year. My DH took my son out early from school to go see him!

Yes, my son is Club Penguin crazy. There is a website, Mimo's Club Penguin Gang, that blogs about the happenings on Club Penguin. My son checks it every morning.

Downtown Disney and the Disney Store sells the books, plush and toys. Target is the only other place I know that sells stuff. It would be great to see more at the parks. Maybe our kids need to send Disney some ideas! ;)

The only time I've seen CP characters is for the Christmas Day Parade. So they do exist, but I guess only under special circumstances. They used to be big on the virtual magic kingdom, but that kind of went by the way side some time ago. Another fad I did not get into.

Wow, that would be exciting. I think it was two weeks ago that DS9 was looking for Gary the penguin for hours. For some reason they seem to separate Club Penguin stuff from the mainstream Disney stuff - it's ok with me, it'd be fun to see some sort of attraction with the puffles or something.

Club Penguin was started by someone else and Disney bought it from them. Other than merchandising, I'm not sure they know what else to do with it!

My son is literally drooling over the new ninja game coming soon. I can't tell you how many times a day I have to hear about it. I nod and smile mostly. He loves this stuff, and having a membership is a pretty easy Christmas present every year.

I don't know much about CP but I have a few questions:

Excepting the 11 year olds that play, what ages is it geared to? I mean, would my 7 (immature) and 8 (mature) year olds like it? They have asked for memberships before and I was thinking of putting cards in stockings. Would they each need an account or could they share one? I am thinking that sharing would be good for the 7 year old as he doesn't quite know what to "do" on webkinz and just enjoys playing a game here and there - my 8 year old daughter is big into racking up points/money and stuff like that. So if she did the upkeep that she enjoys and he could just log on a play every once in a while? Or no? How much like webkinz is it?

They'd probably both enjoy it quite a bit. There's all sorts to do; there are games to play and money to make and things to buy and people to talk to.

My 5 yr old son and 8 yr old DD love CP but I can't see them sharing. You can play games to earn points to buy puffles and then you have to take care of the puffles or they run back to the wild. So I could see how it might be hard to share an acct. Also the CP toys and books come with codes to earn points to purchase items on CP that they might not agree on. For example my DD likes to dress her penguin as a princess but my son obviously doesnt:laughing:

My 8 year olds love Club penguin and they do share a penguin, but they are both girls who are real tomboys so their is no arguments over how to dress their penguin. They have been members for a year or so but liked playing the games even before that (can do most of the games without buying membership). I'd say 7 and 8 is fine.
