Help!!!Moving to Central Florida and Need info!

My wife has been accepted into Chiropractic school in Florida and we will be moving there this coming summer. We would like to live someplace between Orlando and Daytona Beach. Some of the towns we have researched are Deland, Debary, Deltona, and Lake Helen. Any opinions would be appreciated. We do have 2 kids so keep in mind somewhere somewhat safe and good elementary and middle schools please. Thanks.

Any chance you could move a little further up. I am just north of St Augustine and South of Jacksonville, in St john"s county. The school system here is great, as far as public schools go. Can't say much for the other areas but someone else may be able to help. I just know that before the housing crisis they couldn't build homes fast enough because parents where moving here so quickly becuase of the school system.

PS dont judge the school system on my typing, it stinks. lol

Also we are very safe here, The joke is we live in a bubble, very family and kid oriented, tons of after school sports available too. I can't think of anyone that I know that wants to move and that is saying something cause most people here work in Jacksonville proper and they could certainly live in equally nice areas that are closer, but the schools are not as good and not that same small town feel.

Or if you could go a little further south of Daytona to the Viera area. It is south of Cocoa but north of Melbourne. It is a safe community and although my son is in HS, I have heard good things about the elementary and middle schools from the other parents.

More than the schools - I would check out crime reports for the areas you are looking at. You can contact most county sheriff's departments for specifics.

i would Say Lake Mary or Winter Springs or Longwood.

Seminole County has A rated schools.

Thanks for the replies, I have heard good things about Lake Mary. We really need to be closer to Daytona though because my wifes school is there. What about Lake helen??

I live in Sanford and work in Lake Mary. We are between Orlando and Daytona. I like where I live and we have lived all over the Orlando area. I do not have children, however; Seminole schools have a good reputation.
