Help! Medical Equipment Delivery

Need help! My mom needs an oxygen concentrator delivered by a rental company to the peir (she is coming from PA).

Has anyone had medical equipment delivered to the ship? Did you encountered any issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am a TA and I had a client that needed a wheelchair for her cruise. The company delivered it right to the cabin . I'm not sure if they have oxygen equipment but you can call them and see.

We just used brevard medical equipment to rent a wheelchair while on the Wonder. I'm not sure what else they have, but look them up.

Thanks!!! I am so worried that the equipment is not delivered on time and we have to sail. It is not like a hotel where we are not going anywhere...

We also had a wheelchair delivered but they do not deliver it to the cabin....they deliver it to the terminal...at least that is what Care did when we ordered one. We were met right inside the terminal and I had to sign for it. It had our name and cabin number in a few places on the chair and we were told to leave it with a CM in the terminal on our return (where the luggage is) and a rep would claim it.

I work in a hospital and use to order Durable Medical Equipment incl oxygen, etc. You should contact her health provider or the company who provides her with the oxygen in her hometown. They should be able to arrange the whole thing. My father in law is on oxygen and has never had a problem getting his oxygen while travelling. I would also contact DCL to get their perspective on the protocol to be on the safe side but it should run very smoothly if you order in advance.....Good Luck!

BTW, this sort of thing gets done all the time...we use to even arrange for the Oxygen to be waiting for patients getting off a plane.

My father-in-law carried all his own equipment on our west coast cruise. We turned everything when we got to the pier. It was in their room by the time we got there. Only problem was when we got back they couldn't find it Turned out it had been off loaded on a different part of the pier. About an hour after having left the ship oxygen, equipment etc were back together again and we left.

Thanks for your response. I called DCL and they gave me a name of a company and I forwarded it to my mom since they need a prescription in order to deliver the equipment.

One place that is staying warmer then we are Can't wait till my sister gets settled in her new house in Alameda. I am going to visit for the natural air conditioning that she has! She moved here from Dallas. She is wearing long pants and sweaters Have fun on your cruise.

My sister who cruises with me lives in Pleasanton! I love it there! Cleanest city I've ever seen!

I have a medical pump I take with me on cruises. But i just bring it on with my carry on so I dont have to worry about it. They usually give it an extra good scan at security and ask what it is. I also get a medical form from DCL and have the Dr. sign it and I fax it to DCL way before my cruise so if a problem should arise, they can check witht he ships Dr and see that it is for real and not a security risk. They are always very nice about these things.

Thansk mom x4,grandma x4 for the tip. The seems like a good option since we are arriving the day before we can have it delivered to the hotel and we bring it to the port.
