Since the announcement of BLT I've had a quite a bit of thinking to do. My plan has always been to purchase a modest (100) amount of points at BWV since it is our fave resort and we need the 11 month booking window for our Dec trips. We would either do this resale or through my sister who will be a CM in Jan. Initially we were going to purchase additional points at AKV because of the incentives and later expiration. If we own at BWV do you think we can still purchase less than 100 points add on at BLT? Also, do you think we would NEED to purchase there in order to get in? There's a strong chance we would be using our points to reserve a room at BLT in the summer, but that could always change. It seems like quite a bit right now, and as long as I can purchase a 100 point add on within the next year, I am strongly considering it.

Add-on minimum through Disney is 25 points (including if adding BLT). That exists regardless of where you own or whether you buy BWV. If you wondering whether BLT points will be for sale come mid to late next year, likelihood is yes. Note that any incentives, such as current $5 off set price per point, will apply only if you buy 100 points or more at BLT.

The extent to which you will have success getting BLT 7 months out is unknown although likely most owners there are going to want to stay there for some years to come and not 'stray" outside too much to other resorts, meaning they will do their best to fill many dates prior to the 7 month window starting. There will probably be lake view rooms (69% of the resort) open at 7 months out many times of year but you may find all those going very quickly at 7 months out, i.e., if you don't call exactly 7 months out you may be waitlisting.

There is no chance that you will be able to reserve a room at BLT next summer unless you are referring to Sep 1 or after because it is not opening until 9/1/09.
