I'm so indecisive. Right now I've got a BCV studio reserved for October 22-28. At the 7 month mark, I want to add AKV until I go home on November 2. It's going to be a split stay, but the question I can't decide is how split? Do I want to move 3, or maybe even 4 times? DH is joining me at BCV for 3 nights, so I want to surprise him with a 1 BR for those nights he's here, but I don't really want to use the points for a 1 BR on the other nights, so I'd be moving to a studio. And although I like AKV value studios, I've never tried Kidani, so I'm thinking of trying that for a few nights-but would that mean moving too many times? Help, DISers! I'm posting a poll, and I'd also welcome any comments.

DVC isn't going anywhere so you will have plenty of years to stay at all of the resorts. Limit your stays to 2 resorts per vacation. Moving is disruptive to your vacation which is suppose to be restful, unless you enjoy packing. :thumbsup2

Stick with the 1 bedroom for the whole trip. Moving isn't worth the hassle and there is always another trip to check out anothe resort.

Oh, so that's why I'm turning blue-I forgot to exhale! Yes, I want to do it ALL, and I want it NOW!

I would certainly do no more than 2 resorts. And I would not do less than 5 days at a resort. You want to go and have fun, not packing and unpacking and not having a lace to go on days on transition. Also, if you are doing the dining plan, this really can mess with your plans since each stay will create it's own dining credits that are only usable for the days duringthat stay.

Well you'll have enough moving just going from a studio to a 1BR and back to a studio. So I voted for BC studio and 1BR and then AKV at one resort the rest of the time. I didn't see any reason to add another move over at AKV. But when I think of it there could be if you want a value if it's not available all days. Often saving points is an excellent reason to move.

I think it just depends on how you feel about being homeless that many times.

I just reread your original post. If you don't need or want a 1BR for when your DH is there, I'd eliminate that move too. It's only a few days and you save some points.

1st let me preface this by saying that I would only do split stays if it were the one and only way to get my vacation in! Once I unpack, I only re-pack when t's time to vacate!

You mention trying Kidani and I'm for that, it's one of my new favorite resorts, I much prefer it to Jambo. I've never stayed in a studio there, only 2brs, with 2 beds in the adjoining studio! I voted for option 3!

I know I'm in the minority but I have no problem moving a lot and actually enjoy the "new" scenery. But, I'm usually by myself and don't have lots of food, etc. to move. On moving days I plan to be "busy" at a water park or downtown or go to a park after 11:00 so I won't be ready for my room until after 4:00. Just laying by the pool all day isn't bad either! Just make sure you plan ahead so you won't be wasting time waiting to get into your room. Plan your day so you won't even think about it until 4:00.

I would rather stay home than move. It would just be too much hassle to move, we always have food left over as it is. I would limit it two, good luck with your choice.

I just got back from a trip yesterday , I moved three times ,it was to much limit yourself to only 2 moves tops ,you'll enjoy yourself much more .
You'll have your next trip to try another resort !
Good luck !

I prefer to stay in one resort the whole time. I've done the moving thing and it took away from my play time by re-packing and having to check in again.

I would not be surprised if you find yourself so enamoured with the F&W goings-on at Epcot that you will hate to leave BCV mid trip. I would vote for not moving, especially if you'll have any groceries. You will have a great time no matter what but less moves = more relaxation.

This is one of those questions that will forever get numerous responses on every side of the argument.

IMHO, yes moving can be a pain and it does take away some time from your vacation but there are valid reasons for doing it. We (I should say, I) do certain things to make our moves easier when we do split stays. I will pack one bag for our first stay (if it is only a night or two) and then the rest of our stuff in a larger bag. I do the laundry the night before and pack up most everything before I go to bed so that there is very little to do in the morning. We only do villa split stays if we are staying for at least 3-4 nights in each. Anything less than that really isn't worth it to us.

We will send dry goods from resort to resort but we no longer transfer anything that can go bad in transit. I would rather make a late night run to Target or Publix (or even the resort's market) to pick things like eggs, milk, etc. than try to transfer that stuff again.

I say to each their own. If you think you are up for spending some of your vacation time packing/unpacking and reshopping then go for it. Otherwise, I would say you have many years of DVC enjoyment ahead of you, just stay at one of the others in a future trip.

Thanks for all the advice here. I think disneynutz said it best-"take a breath. Disney isn't going anywhere." I've decided what to do, and coincidently, when I checked the poll results, it was what the majority suggested. I have a studio for October 22,23. If the waitlist comes thru, I'll have a 1 BR for 24-28 (Shhh! It's a surprise for DH who's joining me and figures we'll have a studio, but maybe we will). Then on the 28th, I move to either Kidani standard or a value studio (depending on availability) where I'll stay put til check-out. I know what you mean about the F&W and wanting to stay at BCV. Maybe in my younger, healthier days. But after 6 days, my back and knees will want me to stay indoors and rest more-I can't think of a better place than AKV where I can sit and watch animals.
I really appreciate all the thoughtful comments and advice here.

My choice would be to stay in only 1 resort or possibly 2. Packing/repacking doesn't seem very relaxing to me. Any of your resort choices seem perfect by themselves. If I had to do a split stay, I think I would combine BCV with AKV or AKL.

1 move is perfect. 2 moves is work.
