DH and eldest DS and myself and youngest DS are a split family. Our next probable trip to DLP is (likely) planned for 2007. One half of the family votes for Halloween (with Halloween night) and the other half Christmas (perhaps with Christmas Day)

Help me out with this little poll. If you have past experience of either of these times which would you recommend? And if no past experience which one most appeals to you according to what you've hard/read?

I wont tell you which I vote for - wouldn't want to sway the votes ;)

Christmas is amazing theres so much going on. (my visit was end of November)

If your kids are young enough to fully enjoy christmas and Santa it has to be the best season to visit.

well Christmas will be colder, busier as from what I understand Christmas is the busiest time of the year, also it will be more expensive time to go especially if you have the special Christmas dinner at HNY or DLH however I will still choice Christmas over Halloween as I think that it is more magical and a more special time to go.

we went the week leading up to Christmas and they were lots of extra shows and stuff which you don't get though out the year. Also there is the Christmas parade as well as the turning on the lights ceremony, and a later parade at 7.pm. You get snow failing on main street, carol singers, get to met Santa. Belles Christmas village is also lovely with a special little show.

so if you willing to face the cold and crowds, I would recommend it.

I have never been at halloween and to be honest it is not really a must do for me. :)

I've never been at Halloween, as it doesn't really appeal except for the parade. And as Christmas starts on the 10th November at DLP :teeth: you can still enjoy most of the wonderful decorations and shows, and Fantillusion, before the winter chill really sets in.

I voted for other, but my "other" is New Year, which i've done twice and love it (except the massive champagne queues!). I guess this is technically christmas time too tho as all the decorations/shows etc are still there!

Have never been at Halloween tho, so would quite like to try it

I'd love to do Halloween but will always put Christmas top so have voted for this :thumbsup2

Christmas is wonderful.
I have always fancied halloween maybe next year.

I said Christmas- I have been in October Half Term twice before. The theming is very fun, but it was very busy!!! I would love to see how beautiful DLP looks at Christmas, and there are many extra shows and events on at Christmas!!!

I adore Halloween but it has special childhood significance for me as I grew up in the US and went trick or treating every year. I like the macabre feel that the park takes on with all of the witches and pumpkins etc.

I have to say Christmas because we have just spent the most magical Christmas ever at DLP. :santa:

We would like to go for Halloween one year and are hoping to do it in 2008 but although I am sure it will be great fun I can't imagine it will match up to our Disney Christmas.

Thanks guys - I knew you would come up trumps for me:) My choice was for Christmas :goodvibes

Actually, the crowds are quite low on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve the park becomes virtually empty, Christmas Day they are quite low as you will only have hotel residents there, ie. no daytrippers, Boxing Day was slightly busier and from the 27th onwards it became manic!!!

That makes a future Disney Christmas sound even more appealing!!! :teeth:

Ive voted for Christmas as I was there during the Christmas season & New Year in 04 & its really magical. It was actually the 27th I think or 28th when I arrived & stayed until the 2nd or 3rd of January.Id love to visit during Halloween in the future also.Either choice Im sure would be great. :smooth: :smooth:

Well he hasn't actually committed to it yet (and if he is really desperate to go at but you might remember that he is a 'very nice man' ;)

We will NEVER, EVER, EVER go back at Christmas time.
We love Disney, love WDW and don't mind DLP, it is very convenient from where we live in Kent.

We made our 4th journey down to DLP in December and it was a truly awful experience.

I would recommend September time when it is quiet.

I love Halloween the most although Christmas is nice too..

Whatever your pick they both are during the busiest times. (READ; Park is PACKED to the fullest)

Queues will be big....

If you can go either just after New Year or at the begining of December you'll have the same Christmas magic without the crowds....

Whatever your pick, enjoy....
