Help me understand the fine print of Memory Maker

I want to pre purchase the memory maker package before our trip. I was trying to decode the fine print of the rules and want to make sure I have it right before I click the button to buy it. I know it won't start for 3 days after the purchase. What I am wondering is, does the 30 day window for downloading begin the day it is first used in the parks, or does it start when the package is activated in 3 days? I was going to buy it tonight but our trip doesnt't begin till Dec 8th and goes to December 27th. If if it is the later then I shouldn't buy it till just before our trip.

Also, if I have my SIL linked on MDE app and clickd that she can view/share photos, then any photos they take should appear in MDE account under Photo Pass? I want to make sure they will be able to use it as they are there the first week of a big family trip and will be there with our DS, his cousins, and my inlaws and I want photos of their trip. DS is listed under MDE account and will have his ticket, so I presume if his card is scanned it definitely will show.

Pictures expire 30 days after they are taken. at least that was how I experienced it in the past

I believe it doesn't kick in until the first photo lands on your MDE

At least I hope so... as I purchased ours a few days ago for our trip starting December 8

It doesn't matter when you buy it (as long as it's 3+ days in advance as you know). What matters is when you start having your photos taken, and the clock ticks one day at a time after that.

MM begins including your pictures for the pre-purchase price starting 3 days after purchase. If you bought closer to your trip, you could still get those photos in the 3-day delay by purchasing them individually.

Each picture will expire (disappear from your online account) 45 days after each was taken, so you'll want to download by 45 days after the first picture was taken.

Once you download photos, that counts as activating your MM purchase entitlement and you can continue to add more photos to your account for 30 more days from that point. Basically, this is a limitation that spells out whether the purchase of one MM can cover two trips.

You can purchase MM long in advance of your trip. No clocks start ticking until you start getting pictures taken and downloading them. A purchased MM can sit in your account for months and still be ready for use when your trip rolls around.

What Mikie said. Ignore the others. Nothing about the photos or package "activate" memory maker. Photos are available for 45 days after they're taken, and Memory Maker allows you to down photos for 30 days from the first download.

Thanks so much for your responses. I read the fine print again when I purchased it this morning after reading your responses. It was much clearer than I thought yesterday. Clearly my head cold is affecting my brain!
