I'm having such a hard time! We currently have ADRs for dinner at CRT. Well I didn't realize that there really are no princesses there except for the photo op when you arrive. I'm thinking I should change to lunch so my girls (3 of them) can see the princesses but, the lunch menu really doesn't get me as excited as the dinner menu!! How selfish of me!!! :guilty: Plus, I'll have to do some major switching to change other ADR's and BBB to do the lunch...I don't even know if they're available! Sometimes I feel like planning this trip is like making a major like decision...:scared1:

Personally, I wouldn't change it. But, if you're on the fence, ask yourself these questions:

Who is the favorite princess? If it's Cinderella, then don't change - you'll actually spend more time with her in the lobby and your pictures won't have half-eaten food in all of them. If it's another one, there may be a place where they can meet her besides the castle. princess:

The Princess Breakfast at Asherkus guarantees no particular princess, so I never count on who we're going to meet there - that may or may not solve your princess dilemma if there is a favorite they're counting on. :confused3

We've dined at CRT many times, including our wedding night, and always have a blast but I'm a Cindy fan and there's no place like her "home" for me to really get into being in WDW. :goodvibes

Have you dined in the castle before? If not, then keep it. It's a must-do-it-once kind of thing. It's also the toughest reservation to get and now you have one.

The food - lunch or dinner - is really nothing to get too excited about. It's all about the atmosphere and the kids being able to say that they ate in the castle.

If you don't want to use 2 TS credits on the dining plan, you can always pay OOP for this one.

Obviously, I think everybody should really do it once - so take my words as JMHO! ;)

We have done both Lunch and Dinner
Each is its own unique experience.
I would go for Dinner it is fun

Lunch to me was very rushed

You can always catch the princesses @ Mickeys Toontown or in Epcot @ the BLD in the Norway Restaurant

I had the same thoughts about CRT as OP. I didn't care for the lunch menu. So, I booked dinner at CRT and then breakfast at Akershus for the Princess Story Book dining, so DD can see all the princesses.

Thanks for all the messages. I am keeping the dinner! I know they'll love it no matter what and I need to relax a little! It's going to be amazing no matter what!!!

Thanks again!

Sorry to give you different advice since you've decided, but I'd change to lunch. CRT simply isn't about the food -- whether you're eating lunch or dinner, or breakfast for that matter. It's about the characters. We do lunch because we think the point is the princesses. At least last time we were there, the princess interaction was great, each child (and adult who asked) received a sword or fairy wand. Each person gets a small gold star and there is some narration about wishing on a star and such. Classic Disney.

We pay OOP, we don't use table service credits. We save the 2TS credits for a really good dinner at someplace like Jiko.
