Hi,
I have 200pts at WLV with an April UY. I added on once and I figured having all of my points in 1 place is ideal.

Now I'm seeing some appealing resale at TSS and it has me thinking. 1st I would want it written in that it passes by March 20th.

Next. I passed up on a 100pt contract at VB for $4000 in my UY:scared1:
I thought it possible that they might "annex" VB and HHI and not be able to book at WDW resorts???? Is this Possible????

Also If I add on at another resort in WDW....Does it matter if I stay in my UY? Is there a disadvantage or advantage to it?

Any other advice appreciated. I see a lot of really low VB....I know the dues are higher...but I would NOT want to be locked into VB.

I love WLV but I have and will continue to move around resorts. This is the only reason I bought DVC. Flexibility.
Thanks
Kerri

yes. it is possible. (i wouldn't say that it's likely - but the pt charts stayed the same for 15 years and DVC used to be the same for direct and resale purchasers, so...)

much easier to use and keep track of if you keep the same UY month.

but if you don't mind the extra effort, it's not impossible to work with 2 UY months.

I think the best reason to keep the same use year would be if you are trying to combine points from one contract and the other to use in one reservation
but it sounds like you have your WLV points -
So if you would be using the other points to vacation lets say at another time
or to add on later at 7 months ,couldn't hurt if you are comfortable with the
2 different banking windows ...ect .
I was pondering the same thing but then when they made the announcement last week I just jumped on a contract that popped up and had my use year-
Good Luck !

Thanks...

I would like April...but March and June is close.;);)

I'm kinda hoping that I don't find "the one" because this is an impulsive thing right now.....I know I'll "always" use them....but do I "need" them:rolleyes1

Lets see what is in store for me....If something "great" comes along....I might have to buy:goodvibes
Thanks

Question....

Say I want to travel July 2011.

If I had points in WLV April UY and another UY with a different resort....Maybe June or October.

Could I make this reservation at 7 mth borrowing points from both resorts to make this reservation????

Thanks....cause I'm usually in the borrowing stage:headache:

where do you want to stay?

you can make a reservation at the VWL at 11 months out with VWL pts, whether banked, current or borrowed.

if you are borrowing from a different resort contract, you can book at 7 months out.

if you are making a reservation with contracts from different UY months, you would have to book 3 nights with one contract and 4 nights with the other contract and ask MS to link the stays. but you can't combine pts to book a single night without transferring the pts. (and none of this has anything to do with when you can call to book.)

the issue with UY month is if you have to cancel. think about how it would be different if you had to cancel a late july stay with a june UY as opposed to an october UY...

Thanks....definately will stick with same UY.

Was thinking of adding on direct....but 50 pts dosen't qualify for 0% interest:headache::mad:
....and I just saw a 50pt loaded contract for what I need resale.
Hmmmmm.
Thanks
