We just booked our first cruise for December. I have a million questions which I will ask on the cruise board but my issue now is the stay at Disney post cruise. We are planning to stay three nights I put in a request to rent points dvc and while I knew dec was popular I didn't realize how popular it was because what's left is slim pickings. We are not in the business of spending over a $1000 for three nights so our choices are:

Old key west studio
Saratoga springs studio
Animal kingdom lodge savannah

We have stayed Animal kingdom before and loved it but that was before we were spoiled last time with our boardwalk stay it's hard for me to think of not having park access. Alternatively call me crazy I don't think I really want to do this but we could try an all star or pop or art of animation but I have even more hesitations going there. If anyone can give me some insight as to where we should stay, help me feel better about my pick!!

Of the three, I would do AKV - savannah. In terms of park access, at least it gets you close to AK and it's such a beautiful resort. IMHO, after staying at BWI, AKL AND being on a Disney cruise, I think you would be disappointed in a value, particularly if you enjoyed being so close to a park at BWI. I would price out a mod (we like POR) before booking a value. Have you considered Swan/Dolphin? The rates are typically much cheaper than BC/YC and BWI, yet you are in the very same area. If you are a SPG (Starwood's loyalty program) member, you can usually get an even better rate. It's free to sign up for SPG. You just wouldn't have access to Magical Express at Swan/Dolphin so would need to book alternate transportation if you don't have a car. We've stayed at Swan/Dolphin twice to save some money over staying at a WDW EP resort and really enjoyed both stays.

Boardwalk is also our favorite resort (we are going there in May) but with that said SSR is nice. You have direct access to DS, which is getting nicer and nicer, plenty of new restaurants and shops. Park access to every park is by bus, so if you're not a fan that's a problem. On our last stay there the buses weren't too bad and the new video info screens make the waiting a little more tolerable. The quiet pool at the Grandstand section is also a plus.

AKL savannah! If you would feel let down at AKL compared to BWI, I doubt that you would be happy at a value.

I also think AKL studio is a good choice for the location and magic. OKW have the largest villas on property, so if having a bit more space is appealing, that is a good choice, too (and you can take a boat to DS. Saratoga is also just fine, just not super special. Booking a hotel room at one of the values may be a disappointment for you so I would consider that with caution. :)

If the points amounts are the same and space isn't a concern I'd go with AKL view. If you want the most space then OKW wins.
