Help me please!!!!

Do i need a credit card for the car hire or can i use a debit card?
I dont have a credit card, am going next week and dont know what to do!!!!!!
How much needs to be avaliable??

i have never left a credit card as we dont have one, we have only ever had the most expensive pre paid insurance which i think helps with not having to leave a card

I booked through Virgin with Alamo and have prepaid insurance etc...

i have only ever used dollar so not sure on alamo but i know dollar keep my details as we used them every year

i know someone in virgin book it says that alamo need a credit card if i remember right so i'm not sure

maybe you could ring alamo at MCO and see what they say

the first time i went to florida and hired a car i just said i didnt have one and that was fine

On both of our previous trips i have only ever given my debit card - until reading on teh dis I didnt actually know what it was for !!

Our debit card is a visa debit and i have never had a problem - hope that helps !!

I have always taken out a credit card just for this purpose, as i dont use one - but i would prefer just to show them my debit card. And i thought some hotels need a credit card swipe or a cash deposit but i guess that depend upon where you stay. Yeah i would phone to check just to stop you from worrying about it.
