We won a trip to Disney from a radio station, the day AFTER we booked our trip in August. Oh well. Since it's for 4 days I would have added it onto our existing reservation, but I already paid for airfare and airfare is included with the trip. So we are planning on going again if everything works out. :cool1:

When would be a good time to go? The week of Thansgiving and Christmas are blacked out. We have a child in school and I don't want to pull him out for more than a day or 2. The trip has to include a Saturday.

I was thinking maybe around Election day. Is it busy then? This way DS would only miss 1 day of school (Monday).

I have to give them 3 choices so I need 2 more. Wanna help us plan?

Why not change your trip (that you paid for) to November (around thanksgiving-- say 11/22-11/26) and then use your free trip for August when you would have been going. There is nothing like Disney at Christmas! Ugh!!! It is my favorite time! We always go around thanksgiving and work around the kids school schedules -- which is not easy-- so they only miss a couple of days! this year we can go 11/17-11/25 and they would miss nothing. But we are still thinking on it!

I agree with the other person. Disney is beautiful at Christmas. You could also go during September/October. Crowds are none. and all the halloween stuff is up. But that being said I don't know what your child's school schedule is so that might not work. But christmas time is wonderful.

Disney at Christmas gets my vote. If you can manage the time, you should consider doing Disney during the holidays.

:thumbsup2

I really don't think we'll be able to go Christmas because I don't think my DH can get that week off this year. He got it off 2 years in a row and I think someone else wants it. Does the Christmas stuff go up after Thanksgiving or before? I'd like to see it, but it's not really a must. I live in NY and used to a cold Christmas, and I think it would be a little weird to see Christmas decorations while it's 80 degrees out. LOL

September is out because DS has PDD and is in special ed and if he misses school at the beginning, well, it won't be a good year then. Plus he starts junior high this year. Too much going on in September to miss 2 days of school.

In October the only time I could do it is Columbus Day weekend, but we usually celebrate DS' birthday that weekend with a party at our house.

November is looking like the best month now, either the weekend of Election Day, or the following weekend, Veteran's Day weekend, where he would only miss 1 day of school.

For our 3rd choice, my DH has a week off in July and we could probably go then, but it doesn't give that much time to plan.

What stinks is that I have to give them 3 choices, and then Disney will pick which one I get. I also have no idea what resort we're getting. Well, it doesn't really stink I guess because a free trip is a good thing no matter when it is.
