Help me plan our fab vacay!

Hi everyone. How nice to be gay here
We are going to the World the last week of July and staying at the Beach Club (me, DP, DS, DD and my Mami).

Advice:
Any musts for dining?
Shows?
One night Marie and I will have a date - where should I make reservations? Or any pointers on a romantic childless evening?

Also, any tips for the Beach Club? (it will be our first time staying there).
We haven't been to DW since 2004- so anything really new that we *have* to do?

Im only just planning my trip myself! but I can let you know what I'm thinking so far if you like?


I'm about a year in at this point though so I might not be the most knowledgeable one here by any means.


For our 'romantic' date evening I'm going to make a reservation at Victoria and Alberts, but then again it depends on your tastes and budget (its our honeymoon so that's the one meal I am splurging on!).

Ive heard really good things about the La nouba the Cirque du Soleil show too!

I was also thinking of having a date afternoon when it might not be so crowded at 'Garden View Lounge Tea' at the Grand Floridian on one of our non park days.

but we are avid tea drinkers so!

Im sure no matter what you choose you will have a wonderful date!

Also, any tips for the Beach Club? (it will be our first time staying there).

Take full advantage of "Stormalong Bay" It's the pool area/mini water park shared by the Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts. It's VERY cool. If you can spare an afternoon to devote to that, do it!

I second what Juri said. Leave the kids with abuela and have a nice romantic dinner at V&A. Remember to make your reservation way ahead of time.

Or go over to the Yacht Club's "Yachtsman's Steakhouse". Wow what a great experience we had there!

And the plus is, you can walk from your room!

Im not a Disney Pro, yet! Since you are at the Beach Club....go to Beaches and Cream Ice Cream Shop....it's on our to do list for our September/Oct. Trip! We are Ice Cream freaks and it looks like fun! Happy Planning!

V&A and The Yachtsman Steakhouse are the two biggies that have major adult romantic factor. There are other places to dine that would be enjoyable too, but for WoW factor, these two are the best.

There are lots of new attractions since 2004. Pretty much all of them are totally worth doing at least once, with the notable exception of Stitch's Great Escape that opened in November of 2004. It's a total waste of time.

By all means, please let us know how your planning is going. If you would like for us to take a look and help you to tweak things out, I am sure that many of us here would be glad to help.

Oh gosh, the Beach Club is our favorite WDW resort!!! (We are DVC members and our favorite DVC resort is our home of OKW, but the BC is the first WDW resort we stayed at, so is our favorite "hotel").

So, spend loads of time at the pool as Rob says. It's wonderful and has something for everyone including pool side wait service.

Yachtsman's Steak House is wonderful. Have a pre (and post!) dinner drink at the Crew's Cup lounge and ask for Ricardo or Oscar for your server. They are both incredible people!

If you want a wonderfully romantic adults only dinner you may want to consider Bistro de Paris (upstairs at France). They have an incredible tasting menu there and they will allow you to share if you so choose (including the wine pairings, which while extra can be shared too). It's an involved meal, and not rushed so it's perfect for two.

California Grill gets good reviews for romantic dinners, and Jiko at AK and Artist Point at WL are two other great choices.

Cirque is fabulous and if you can go and take the family.

We really enjoy Cape May at the BC too. They have a great character breakfast! We are serious shellfish lovers too, so thoroughly enjoy the Cape May dinner buffet. It features steamed clams, shrimp and mussels along with clam chowder, a fish (usually the ubiquitous salmon) other meats (beef, ribs, sausage, chicken) pasta dishes, veggies both hot and cold, and a cold salad bar selection. There is a separate buffet table for desserts. If you like clams and or mussels it's a must do.

The BC is an easy walk from the IG to the WS, so you can pop in and out of EPCOT at will. It's not a terribly long walk to DHS from there either. You can take the ferry to either park too.

MK and AK are a bus ride away and that is the only downfall of this deluxe (all of them actually, except for AK) they share buses with the other resorts in the immediate area and it's often a crowded bus that you'll be taking wherever you go. Bus to DTD also.

You can walk to the boardwalk side and enjoy their live acts of an evening. They are simple little things, musicale Mark and his rolling piano, a banjo player, a sword swallower and things of that nature. You can rent water craft and surrey bikes too.

It's a great place to stay and a really nice area. Have a wonderful time!

Desiree, I'm goin' in May, on the DxDP, I'll let ya know about the restaurants I hit later, but I certainly agree with the previous recommendations.
