I’ll be heading to WDW with my 8 yo son on Tuesday November 5 and staying at Contemporary for 4 nights until Saturday, where we will then move to a house to stay with 12 family members for a week.

Friday is the first MVMCP that we will not be attending. We will spend the day at MK.

So my question is this, what would you do that Friday night?

Trying to decide the best place to view the party fireworks outside the park. Should I stay at Contemporary, grab some dinner and watch from the 4th floor observation deck? Or maybe take the monorail over to Poly? Any recommendations welcome.

Wasn’t sure if this should be on this board or resorts board..

Both of these are great ideas-I prefer the view from the Poly beach area, and it would be a nice change for you since you are staying at the Contemporary. You could also see the Electrical Water pageant earlier from the Poly beach if you haven't seen it from the Contemporary yet. There are nice restaurants, including the hard to get O'Hana dinner, at the Poly as well-

Either of those would work! The fireworks are typically at 10 pm. For me, it would depend on how much stamina your DS8 has after a day in the parks. If you want to keep it loose without an ADR, you could grab dinner at Contempo or even the bar in the Wave or the lounge at Cali Grill (I would suggest going early to get a seat in the lounge). If you eat at Contempo or the Wave, you can watch from the 4th floor observation deck. If you eat at Cali Grill, you can either stay (depending on what time you eat) or go back later and watch the fireworks from the observation deck outside the restaurant (spectacular view!). Or, if he has some energy, you could head over and eat at Capt. Cook's and watch from the Poly beach. You can also watch from the boat dock and marina at GF. Personally, if you are willing to wing it with QS or a lounge meal, I would just see how you feel after your day in MK and go from there. With views from CR, Poly and GF, you have a lot of options.

Well we eat at Ohana twice every trip including our final night. We have never had an issue from watching the fireworks from our seats as they pipe in the music. It is as close as I can get the girls (10 and 19) to the fireworks.

Thanks everyone for your recommendations. I think I’m going to see how the day goes and our energy level. I’ll either do a quick service or last minute reservation at Contemporary or Poly. 10 o’clock is late for fireworks and for us to get back from Poly so it will depend on my son’s stamina that day.
