I am working to make an autograph book for my DD6. I would like to have it divided somewhat so that I can find the correct page for characters to sign as efficiently as possible. So far, these are the characters that I am planning to include. (Not that I necessarily need to see all of these. I just hate to see a character & not have a page for him/her.) Are there any that I need to add/remove? Each character will have one page with his/her sticker on it to sign and a blank page next to it where the pictures will go. Are there any others on here that are typically seen together and could be included on one page/in one picture?
fyi- we will be attending CRT and Chef Mickey's. I only have 40 pages in this book, so I'd really like to narrow it down to my most likely to see characters. And, as you can tell, princesses are (of course) a big thing for us.

Mickey Mouse
Minnie Mouse
Donald and Daisy
Pluto
Chip and Dale
Goofy

Cinderella
Prince Charming
Suzy and Perla
Fairy Godmother

Belle
Beast
(Do I need Chip, Mrs. Potts, etc?)

Pocahontas
John Smith
Meeko

Snow White
Dwarfs (Is 1 page ok for them?)

Mulan
Mushu
Shang

Aurora
Prince Philip
(What about the fairies?)

Ariel
Eric
(Do I need Flounder, Sebastian, etc.?)

Eeyore
Piglet
Pooh
Tigger
(What about Kanga, Roo, or Christopher Robin?)

Hope this helps. All my opinion of coarse. I am sure others have different takes on all this...I would give each character their own page..its easier for the character to sign and sometimes they will get more creative and draw a picture or do something a bit 'extra' given room and time.

Oh Wow! This question is right up my alley!! I had the same problem on how to group the characters when I orginally made my autograph books. I also put stickers on each page for the characters to sign - they really enjoy seeing that!! :)

I had fun looking over your list! So here we go!!! :teeth:

Mickey and friends looks good! Sometimes Daisy can be elusive but she does get out! Max, Goofy's son, does appear often with Goofy at Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella characters look good!

Belle and Beast are good! Beast is most often in France at Epcot. Chip and Mrs. Potts aren't meetable characters - don't have to worry about them!

John Smith from Pocahontas is incredibly rare!

The dwarves do get out here and there, but often they don't sign, but sometimes they do! You never know!

Shang from Mulan is very rare, but he does get out sometimes

From Sleeping Beauty, as of right now the fairies don't make appearances. Prince Phillip is very rare

Prince Eric is incredibly rare, not sure if you need to include him. We never seen him! No Flounder or Sebastian to worry about

Pooh and friends now has Rabbit as a meeting character, but he is unusual to find, but we seen him often!

Abu is very rare and rather new, so not sure if he would be out much!

Lilo and Stitch are a definite!

Mary Poppin's penguin sometimes signs, sometimes doesn't

Rafiki and Timon are the only Lion King characters

For the Toy Story characters, sometimes the Green Army Man is out

For Robin Hood characters, definitely include Prince John, as he is very common. I don't think Maid Marion is a meetable character, or if she is, she is very very rare! There's been talk of her coming back to make appearances

Just Nemo, no Dory, but poor Nemo doesn't sign autographs!

Mike and Sully don't sign autographs

Bear in the House is in the show at MGM, and very incredbily rare to be out meeting, as he really isn't a meetable character - but think I heard once of someone getting his autograph

Little Einsteins aren't very regular yet, but there are rumors they may be at some point in the future!

Tarzan, Jane, and Merlin are very rare. Merlin is a tough one - he does his Sword show, and I am not sure if he signs there or not. If he did, it is very very rare

Definitely include Pinocchio and Geppetto and Gideon!

Must say, a very good list!!! I also hate to not have a page when I meet a character, though that has happened to me (but not often)! And things can always change! And sometimes you never know what unusual character Disney may get out that week!! Have fun getting those autographs!! :)

This site has some info on the characters that they saw for autographs. It is pretty good.

www.wdwautographs.com

Also, here is a site that has a checklist (the one in pocket format is dated 2006).

Hope they help.
Thanks!!!!!!! We posted at the same time!!!!!! :cloud9: :cloud9:

We are missing some very rare characters or some really new ones (like the new Pink Power Ranger) but we try to get most of them!! :)

Tony609 - Wow! Our lists look very similar!! :thumbsup2

on our last trip to Disney I carried around a 11x 14 frame and had all the characters sign it.. I guess you could say it was a mat for the frame... it looked so neat and tons of people ask me where I bought it at... Walmart for 1.50! Its too cute!

An excellent place to catch the main characters is on the scheduled character bus visits in Epcot.

Also can't forget about Brer Rabbit, Fox, and Bear that often meet outside of Splash Mountain!

Sadly the bus was cancelled! There is now the Character Connection room, which fortunately seems to have many of the same characters now, though not as many as once.

You seen Brer Fox??? When??? Where??? :teeth: Brer Bear gets out often and Brer Rabbit sometimes, though not as often. But I would do anything to meet Brer Fox!! :teeth:

Please do not be offended my comments. I do not mean them to sound harsh. I just can't help but wonder why you are going to all this trouble. When we went we loved the character hunting. For our next trip we are getting new books for the kids and will try to get more than the 59 that we got last time. It just seems to me that you are making it into to much much work. Why do you want to have assigned pages for the characters to sign? Again, I apologize if I offend you. I just do not understand and I wonder if I am missing something.

Wow!!! You all are incredible! I never expected this much of a response and such great help. (Although I've been on here enough to know how good you all are :thumbsup2 ) I guess I will spend my weekend (3 day weekend! Woo-hoo!) working on my autograph book. Thanks again for your wonderful help!!!!
:thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

No problem Kmkja1! Mainly I'm doing it just to keep myself entertained while I wait for the trip to start! I kind of have a plan in place already and I've hit a lull for awhile. I saw the autograph book idea on here somewhere & thought, "Hey, that'll give me something to do!" Now, whether my daughter actually enjoys getting autographs or not will be a whole other story!

Just for the record, I also designed about 10 shirts. Then, I printed one and decided not to do any more.

I also spent about 2 weeks collecting pennies from 1982 & before for the penny machines, cleaning them up, etc. And, I stopped in the middle of that project too!

Basically, I just like to begin projects, but rarely finish them!!!! :confused3 Maybe this autograph book will be one that I'll actually carry through! :cool1:

:cool1: Here's an idea for autographs:

Get a nice 4x6 photo album, the kind that open left to right. Get or make 4x6 index cards. Carry the cards with you at WDW so that any character you see, you can have them sign these cards individually. Take a picture of your child with the character (vary these, include siblings or mom or dad or both, but have some of the child alone, also have your child mimic what the character does for a pose...if Lilo and Stitch strike a surfing pose, have your child pretend to surf too!)....

Now, when you get home, use scrapbooking techniques to make the first photo album right side page into an introduction (Lauren's Walt Disney World trip Autograph book (With Pictures!!!).

Then, when you open the photo album, have a picture on the left of your child with the character and the autograph on the right. You can add scrapbooking stuff to the autograph too. If you have Pooh's autograph, you can maybe put a little picture of Winnie the Pooh on that index card in the corner or a phrase like "Meeting Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood."

These work out really well with Princess or Buzz Lightyear pics and autographs. With a minimal amount of time and expense (if you simply cut out Disney stuff from catalogs or magazines or whatever instead of more expensive scrapbooking stuff), you can have one heck of an awesome photo/autograph book.

Look at it this way, when your kids are thirty, they'll show this to their kids and think, "Geez, my Mom (or Dad) really went all out for me didn't they?"

Decorate the cover of the photo album as well! :smooth:

I'm sure your daughter will love them. My kids (7,8 & 9) loved getting them. While reading your original post I couldn't help but think that it would be a pain trying to find the right page in the book before you could get the autograph. But then I am not that organized of a person. Good luck however you decide to do it.

Actually, it sure is quite a job to arrange an autograph book!!! No denying that!! :teeth: I had this problem when me and my nephew 1st decided to do nothing but look for characters. I had a bigger problem than the original poster - I wanted 100 character's pictures, so that meant two books organized. I thought about alphabetical, but if I met Tigger and Eeyore, they would be in different books and I would be flipping all over, holding up the line!! :bitelip: So like the OP, I tried to put characters together roughly by movie, since it is likely to meet characters together from the same movie. :)

The other nice reason for organizing an autograph book ahead of time (like with stickers of each character on their page) is that it's easy to see what characters you missed. And the characters are quite flattered to see the effort you put into it! And if your child can't read yet, it makes it easy to see which characters they already met. :)

Though it has happened to me that I met characters from completely different movies (Jafar and the Snow Queen together) and had flip all over in both books very quickly to find their pages!! But usually I can find the page in time! :teeth:

 Our book is grouped by movie also, but I made an alphabetical index with the page numbers too. When there are multiple characters at once, we find the right pages & mark them with post it notes while we're waiting.

What is the best kind of book used to make an autograph book? I would like to make a homemade one.
