Help me plan my AK day / meals?

I am really struggling to plan my AK day. ( I admit this is our least favorite park.) The great thing about AK for us is that it is the most non-rush / non stress park.

We will have DxDP and stay at Poly. I am planning AK for it AM-EMH day because we will be there in summer. However, how important is AM-eMH at this park? If we get there at regular opening (due to a long breakfast) will it matter much? (EE is not a factor for us.)

SO, I could plan to be there before 8 AM, do a quick CS breakfast at Poly early and then a late Tusker house breakfast for lunch? Then early Boma dinner before heading back to Poly.

Or a longer breakfast at Kona (7:30) arriving AK approx at regular opening at 9. Then either Tusker lunch or just get Flame Tree, then go to Boma later.

I've never done TH and honestly, Flame Tree sounds a little better. I remember loving it years ago, but that was when they had good chocolate cake too. Is it hard to get a table at FT? Would we appreciate the reserved seating at TH? Or is it generally not too crowded? I can't really remember. We have skipped AK the past few years.

IS Boma not open for lunch? We don't normally need more than a few hours at AK anyway.

Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks. By chance we ate at Yak & Yeti TS. I loved it. The food/service was very good. I had skirt steak and shrimp, DD had roast duck. For dessert we had the cream cheese wontons which are on a skewer with pineapple, it is served with vanilla ice cream and vanilla sauce  I can't wait to go back there.

I would give Yak & Yeti a try:thumbsup2

I'm not very enthusiastic about the Animal Kingdom either. We didn't visit the park at all on our last trip and we probably won't on our next trip either. I do think that it's a great excuse to dine at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, however. You can do lunch at either Yak and Yeti inside the park or Sanaa at the AKL. Sanaa and Jiko both do an excellent dinner, too.

I knew I was leaving out some critical information: We have been living in China for Dh's job for 5 years. Summers are our Home in America times. My sons have refused anything that looks even slightly like Chinese food while we are in the USA, so Y&Y is out.

Flame Tree is one of my favorite places to eat in all of WDW. I will admit that bbq pork is one of my favorite foods though, and one of the few meat dishes that I eat. We've never had trouble getting a table. There are a lot of different areas of seating that are pretty spread out, so if there's not a seat in one area, you just walk up the path a little to the next area. We've never done a table service meal at AK because we have trouble fitting everything in as it is with the short hours at that park. We always try to go there on an EMH day to help give us a little extra time.
