Trying to figure out what the best plan is for an 8-day trip over Christmas (traveling with 2 kids, age 8 and 10). We've done Disneyworld enough, so plan to do the non-Disney stuff this time. Thinking perhaps:
3 days US/IOA
1 day SW
1 day DC
1 day Kennedy Space Center
2 days ?? (1 more at US/IOA? Aquatica? Busch Gardens? 2nd day at SW? gators? relax/mini-golf/dinner shows?)
In terms of crowds, would certain parks be better on Christmas Day / days before Christmas / days after Christmas? Does the holiday weekend affect the parks equally or would some get more crowded than others?
Besides crowds, are there special events at any of the parks on Christmas or other days that would help dictate which to do which day?
I assume if we go to US/IOA Christmas Day or later, we will need the express pass. If we stay on-site for a single night, would that give us the express pass priviliges for 2 days (checkin and checkout days)?
Would crowds be big enough on 12/22-12/23 to need express pass those days?
Is SW a 1-day or 2-day park?
Would it be too cold to do Aquatica and/or Wet n Wild that time of year?
Is Busch Gardens worth the drive? Is that a 1-day or 2-day park?
Does US/IAO have enough to keep interested for 4 days or is 3 enough? (Family is big Harry Potter fans, so I imagine WWOHP will take a big part of a day.)
I see quite a few dinner shows - Pirates, Arabian Nights, Al Capone, Polynesian, Wonder Works, etc. - any in particular to recommend (or not)?
Any other ideas to add to the list?
I know these topics are likely covered in other posts, but there is so much here, I've been reading pages and pages from this board for hours, and would appreciate the guidance, even if it's just pointing to the relevent threads.
Thanks for any help!
