help me plan day in Hollywood

Need suggestions for fun things to do in Hollywood area with 20, 16 and 12 year old children. We will have a car!

Want to see Hollywood sign and Grauman Theater's footprints. Other than that, what to do? what to do?

We want suggestions on good eats, too!

I swear I replied yesterday but don't see it now! I mentioned Griffith in your horseback question - so other than that I would try to catch a film at Disney's El Capitan theatre - beautifully restored to it's 30's glory and there is a fabulous live organist that plays an amazing wurlitzer organ before the shows ( you might want to make sure when they play ). There's usually an exhibit of movie-related items to see as well.
The Disney Studio store is next door -- special pins and they have ice cream and sandwiches. Never eaten there but the sundaes look good.
Hollywood and Highland ( where you'd park - and get validated at the El Cap) has the theatre where they do the oscars and is adjacent to the Chinese with the footprints in the cement.

I see that you are from Huntington Beach--we plan to go there! Heard that there are some sort of fire rings that you can claim during the day and then use at night for a bonfire?? Any truth to that?

Can you recommend a few good local places to eat--I prefer mom and pop, not national chain. My family will eat anything, we are all adventurous!
