we are headed to DLP 8th-12th october and i have really got myself in a tis organising an itinarary. I'm hoping that as it is during the week and only the Perthshire and Tayside schools are on hols it won't be too busy. We will pretty much have a full 5 days as we are doing keycamp first and will leave the campsite which is about an hour away early, so we should get to the hotel 10am at the latest, probably even earlier, and on our last day our tunnel crossing isnt until 8pm.

We would like to do EMH at least one morning, do one GMF breakfast (maybe same day as EMH), spend at least one full day in each park and then hop about as we feel like in order to get everything done. Wouldn't mind a couple of hours one afternoon in the pool at SL, and would like to eat at Rainforest cafe, walts or blue lagoon and lunch at lucky nugget (probably first day)

Kids are almost 6 and 4 and like pretty much any rides they can go on, but are quite opinionated in what they do so we cannot have too strict an itinarary....lol

so i set the challenge, who is going to do me a rough plan for our trip.

Try not to be too strict about sticking to a plan but have ideas and be prepared to be spontaneous.

You could do the hotel swim on the day you do EMH as you will haev been up earlier so may appreciate escaping from the park for a while.

I would say wait til you get there and assess how busy it is to help you decide when and where to eat. If it is very busy (hopefully not) eating at lunchtime also gives you an escape.

Depending what time the parks close you may want to eat later to maximise time in the park or may want to book at a table for just before the park closes to avoid the rush. Check what is the latest time you could book at restaurants in the park as sometimes they take bookings up til the park closes which means in effect you can stay in there longer but obviously not be on any rides.

Dont forget to spend time just wandering round the park taking in the beauty and atmosphere. Your children will love Adventure land- exploring the caves etc and the bridge.

Do EMH as many mornings as possible- you get loads of rides done. You can always go back to your hotel for a late breakfast

i wouldnt do an itinerary - it always goes to pot anyway!! usually we try to work out our day around the 'non changeables' - shows and meals, and a break to the hotel in the afternoon always makes the day feel like 2 days!
