Help me plan a date night... What do adults do after hours? ;)

So, one evening of our stay, my husband and I will be able to go out just the two of us while DD stays with grandparents. It will be a Friday night, if that helps, and we're both mid-20's.

Recently discovered Jellyrolls piano bar.. sounds fun, BUT I would like to actually chat with him during our night out. I currently have ADR at Sanaa at 8:05 pm but that's up for consideration if you have other recommendations..

What should we do with our evening? Ultimately I'm going to plan it with him, but I'd love all the suggestions you can through at me. We've never been to Disney as adults!

Thanks <3

There is really a LOT to do (and Sanaa is an excellent choice). Here are some suggestions (some we have done, some we have seen)

Romantic:
1> Taking the hot air balloon ride in Disney Springs (DS) and then hitting some of the bars
2> Sitting on the beach at Yatch and watching Epcot "and" HS fireworks, with a bottle of wine
3> Moonlight fireworks cruise in MK

Fun:
1> Bowling night in DS
2> Dinner and a movie in DS

Elegant (specially if you have time to book, not knowing when your vacation is)
1> Dinner at Victoria and Alberts or Citrico's (or Narcoosees)

I am sure others on this board will have suggestions too.

The carriage ride at POR is lovely and a great way to chat and cuddle. You can even bring a beverage if you like. Another option is just to stroll through EP. You can just enjoy the atmosphere, perhaps a wine tasting, and each other.

I actually think your dinner plan sounds great. Then if you wish, you could get a drink at Victoria Falls lounge that is situated right above Boma. You could sit at one of their tables and/or head outside and sit by the fire that is off the back of main lobby.

AKL is a great place for a romantic evening! Enjoy!

This is pretty much exactly what I was going to say and recommend. While Sanaa is at Kidani, they have a shuttle that goes between Kidani and Jambo, or you could take the nice 10-15 minute walked to get from one to the other. There are a lot of areas to view the savannahs from at AKL. Take your time strolling around the resort, have a drink or 2 at Victoria Falls, sit out by the firepit, check out the night vision goggles. More than enough to see and do in a quiet and romantic atmosphere. Also, while Sanaa is very good (the best "1TS" restaurant on property IMO) you could change your ADR over to Jiko, which tops our list of favorite restaurants on property.

The problem with going to AKL for dinner & drinks is the lack of convenient transportation in the evening. Depending on where you're staying you could have a $20 or more (with tip) cab fare back to your hotel. If that doesn't bother you, an evening at AKL could be very romantic. If it were us, we'd probably go to DS or the Boardwalk area. Swan & Dolphin have some nice lounges that you could easily hold a conversation at. We also think the food in their hotels is better than in Disney run restaurants in the same price range. Depending on where you're staying DS would probably be the best choice for free transportation. As you can see, I don't believe in drinking & driving after even one drink. Transportation is always a consideration for us.

I agree; we're not planning to drive. :)

I'm thinking we may enjoy AKL/Victoria Falls before dinner, have dinner at 8:30, and then head to DS until 12 or 1-am or so, then go back to our cabin in Ft Wilderness. Does this sounds reasonable, or way too much time spent in transportation? From what I read, it seems as if the buses from DS run until about 2-3 am.

I recommend going to check out Raglan Road. In order to sit at a table inside or out on the patio, you have to order some food so maybe if you're up for it, split an app or get the bread pudding which is very popular there. I like the bands that play outside on the patio but inside, the dancers perform every hour I believe so either way, it's a fun time w/good drinks & really good food.
