Obsession is all I can call it. Ive scrolled and clicked and searched and read about practically all the Disney resorts. We’ve only ever stayed at Poly Villas, and it was bc we got upgraded there bc our original Wilderness Lodge reservation was canceled during Covid. I LOVED it. My husband and my son did NOT. I dont get it at all, but best I can say is, they didnt like that they didnt feel like they were at a “hotel”. Poly’s GCH was under construction too. Either way… Id say I have a top 3. A 1 bedroom at Copper Creek Villas bc I love the theming. 1 bedroom at Riviera Resort bc I love the fanciness & fresh looking rooms. And Contemporary Resort bc its on the monorail and I love the new Incredibles rooms. That would just be a standard size room, hopefully with a theme park view. Thoughts anyone? It’ll be in mid-November before Thanksgiving, Im assuming things will be Christmas decorated at least partially. Talk me into one of these LOL!

CR rooms are freshly refurbed and you can walk to MK. If you plan to spend a bunch of time there, the convenience is great. You also have easy access to the other monorail resorts for shopping and dining, which is always nice.

The resorts get decorated fairly early on into November iirc. I'm not a fan of WL's theming, and I'm not really a Xmas person, but everyone who is swears up and down WL is amazing at Xmas time. So if you're into decorations CC may be up your alley. WL is fairly secluded despite being an MK area resort, and doesn't look or feel super "hotel"-ish--you don't have nearly as much through traffic there as the Poly. Given your family's preferences, I think I would lean more toward that.

That's a tough choice and it really depends on what you are looking for. CCV is lovely and will, hopefully, give your family that "hotel" feeling as you will be in the main WL building. The RIV rooms are gorgeous, but I found the lack of dining options to be kind of a downer - 1 TS which is difficult to reserve and a good, but small, QS. If the Skyliner goes down, you also lose that perk. If you like the Incredibles, I think you will like the new rooms and you will have walking access to MK.

I would pick:

CCV if you want a beautiful hotel with great access to MK, more space and possibly some holiday decorations, 2 TS and 2 QS.

RIV if you want a gorgeous room - other than that, I didn't think our stay there was all that great (if you want to be in the EP resort area, I would recommend BC/YC over RIV)

CR if you want the Incredibles theme and easy access to MK plus other dining options on the monorail. Overall, I think WL/CCV is the nicer hotel.

I would absolutely go one bedroom at RIV. I adore RIV with its Skyliner access to two parks and small footprint so it’s easy to get around the resort. I find the resort gorgeous and enjoyed having the coffee shop in the lobby for those early mornings.

My second choice would be CCV simply because I think one bedroom > hotel room.

I’ve travelled to WDW mid-Nov for the last few years. It will be a crapshoot if your hotel is decorated so don’t expect it to be. MK will be decorated as Xmas parties will have started and you may or may not see the other parks decorated. Resorts and parks are decorated over night with no advance warning so try to expect nothing and be delighted if you get something decor wise.

Although it isn't guaranteed, the closer to Thanksgiving you are, the higher the chance of Christmas decorations. That being said, I would try Wilderness Lodge.

How does Disney Springs look during Christmas? Does that get decorated early and does it look very holiday there?

The last day of our trip would be Sunday November 20th, do we think thats a pretty safe bet our resort would be decorated, or do they stretch that out into Thanksgiving week?

What do you love about BC? Id say that one is 4th on my list, and dont laugh but purely bc the room decor doesnt thrill me. Find it a little dull, but also could be bc i live at the Jersey shore so my whole life (including my own home decor lol) is Coastal themes!

I though it was nice but not something I’d go out of my way to see if I didn’t already plan to hit DS. I think it was decorated on each of our trips. They have a Christmas Tree Stroll if you really want to soak in the season where you’ll see each of their 20 uniquely decorated Christmas trees throughout Disney springs link

Stayed there a couple Nov trips and it didn’t happen to me but it can happen and then you have to bus. They run it in rain but not in lightening. Idk about high winds.
Ha! Something I didn’t think about. I dont really know Florida weather in November. Something else to look up

All of the weather happens I think lol. It was borderline summer one year. Another year it went from shorts weather to so cold a few days later I bought the last scarves and gloves at WL Mercantile as the high for the day was in the 50s. I travel with all of it now. Shorts, jeans, scarves, rain coats- leave none of it behind 😂

I love BC, but I can understand, if you live at the Jersey shore, it may not interest you as the decor is very "beachy" (obviously!) and there are old-fashioned Jersey shore elements everywhere (Cape May Cafe!). The Boardwalk area is also very turn-of-the-20th-century Atlantic City. I'm from PA and used to go to the Jersey shore as a kid, so it's a bit nostalgic for me! Aside from the theme, the location is just incredible - you are right next door to the EP entrance and the Skyliner. There are also a ton of restaurants within walking distance. Transportation to EP and DHS are super easy from BC. I also love the location of BCV (if you are looking at a one-bedroom) as it is very close to the BC QS, EP, the Skyliner and the bus area to get the bus to MK or AK. BCV is my favorite resort in WDW.

I would do CR. Easy access to other resort restaurants, walk to MK, feels 'like a hotel'.

Also compare prices of CR TPV with CR CL std view (Bay Lake view). Sometimes the prices are similar, and the lounge has a TPV.

We stayed at the Contemporary during our last trip to Disney and really enjoyed it. The lake view in my opinion is better and also costs less. The theme park view is mostly a view of the parking lot and you can see some of the taller structures at MK. Lake view is enjoyable and many things to see when sitting on your balcony and they have that lighted boat show every evening. Where you choose to stay is mostly determined by your budget, what parks you will be visiting and how you happen to like the theming of various hotels.

Christmas time…hands down it’s gotta be CCV at VWL…although last year they did tone down (ie Cheap Out) the decorations…it’s still the most beautiful…plus there’s fireplaces!
