Hello all!! :wave2:
I'm new here as far a posting but I've but lurking for almost a year now! My boyfriend and I went on our first Disney vacation together in September and we're already planning trip #2 for this coming September!

Long story short we're hopefully going to book soon and get the free dining in Sept.! However, I've never eaten at Disney restaurants besides like food carts, and Tokyo Dining! I have been reading a lot of reviews on here and looking at tons of pictures too! I need help picking the places we should go on our trip, sort of a "If you HAD to pick 4 QS meals, and 4 TS meals what would you pick?!?!" Oh yeah.. and maybe some recommended snacks too? ;)

I know we want to eat at the Poly one day. Either QS, or TS. Kona looks like it might be our choice. I just want to hear what everyone would pick if they HAD to pick 4 TS meals!!

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!! :earsboy:

I'd choose differently if it was me and my DH than if it was me and my family.

At Epcot: Garden Grill and Biergarten for the family, for me and DH I'd like to try Chefs de France.

At MK: no real must-dos, but we have eaten at and enjoyed Crystal Palace, Tony's, and the Plaza cafe.

At AK: Yak and Yeti

At DHS: 50s Prime Time

Resorts: We have liked Kona, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, and GF Cafe. DH and I would like to try Victoria and Alberts. I would also like to take my DDs to the Aloha Luau.

Without knowing your tastes it's hard to give recommendations but let's say I was going to each park once in 4 days...

Magic Kingdom:
CS at Pecos Bills for lunch
TS dinner at Ohana or Whispering Canyon Cafe (California Grill if you want top notch = $$$)
Snack cream cheese pretzel

Epcot:
CS lunch at Sunshine Seasons or Norway's bakery
TS dinner at Biergarten or Chef's de France
snack anything from the Norway or France bakeries

DHS:
CS lunch at Studio Catering Company
TS dinner at Mama Melroses or Brown Derby (with the Fantasmic dinner package)
snack anything from Starring Rolls

AK:
CS lunch at Flame Tree BBQ
TS dinner at Yak and Yeti
snack...hmm...I'm going to have to work on that one on my next trip!

CS
Columbia Harbor House
Flame Tree BBQ
Sunshine Seasons
Fairfax Faire
TS
O'hana
Tusker House
Biergarten
Fifties prime Time
These are ones I think everyone
should try first. I am branching out to others now but I enjoyed all of these and they were fun to me.

I know it's "just" breakfast, but the Ohana breakfast at Poly was the best meal we had on our last trip and that included a lot of other TS meals.

Yeah I've been thinking about maybe breakfast at Ohana! So many choice! Thanks to everyone so far!!

And as far as our tastes, we like EVERYTHING and we're open to anything new too!

It truly depends on what you and your boyfriend enjoy to eat. It would be easier to make suggestions if you specify what type of food you like, if you want a simply TS, signature restaurant, or buffet for the TS, characters, etc.
To answer your question of where my family would choose if we had to pick would include the following:
QS:
MK: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe or Pinocchio Village Haus
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (in my opinion the best QS in DW)
HS: Pizza Planet or Studios Catering Co.
AK: Flame Tree BBQ

TS:
MK: I would go to one of the monerail restaurants- California Grill
Epcot: Teppan Edo
HS: Brown Derby
AK: Yak & Yeti

My family normally eats QS at MK and Epcot for lunch and TS at HS and AK. For dinner we always have TS and some breakfasts we go to character breakfasts. There are our favorites:
QS:
Sunshine Seasons (Epcot)
Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe (MK)

TS:
Teppan Edo (Epcot)- dinner
Yak & Yeti (AK)- for lunch
Boma (AKL)- for dinner
California Grill (CR)- for dinner
1900 Park (GF)- for breakfast

There are other good restaurants; however, it depends on your taste. You said that you wanted to go to a restaurant at the Poly. I would go to either Kona or Ohanas. I would choose which ever one has a more appealing menu to you. I hope this helps and if want to specify what food you prefer it would be easier to point you in the right direction!

Thanks! I'm really starting to write a few down that have been repeatedly recommended there are just way too many options! I guess I have a few months to plan it all out, good thing I just got some graduation money yesterday! :cool1: I can already tell I may want to eat a few more times then the DDP will allow! :lmao:

Free dining is so awesome! :woohoo: Here is what I would pick:

Magic Kingdom:
TS - Crystal Palace (breakfast)
CS - Cosmic Rays or Main Street Bakery

Epcot:
TS - Tutto Italia
CS - Sunshine Seasons

Animal Kingdom:
TS - Tusker House (breakfast)
CS - Pizzafari

DHS:
TS - Sci-Fi
CS - Pizza Planet

Resorts:
TS - Chef Mickey's
CS - Whatever is convienient! :)

Other favourites: Chefs De France (TS), Pecos Bills (QS), Plaza (TS), Coral Reef (TS), Beaches And Cream (TS), Wolfgang Puck Express (QS)

Welcome to the DIS!

I'm going to move this thread to our restaurant board.

If I had to pick 4 TS only for DH and I they would be:

MK: Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)
Wilderness Lodge: Whispering Canyon Cafe (Dinner)
AK: Tusker House (Breakfast)
Epcot: Coral Reef (Dinner)

CS's we just kinda go with the flow, we tend to try different places every time.

TS:
Citricos
Flying Fish
Jiko
bluezoo

Non-signature TS:
Sanaa
'Ohana
Crystal Palace Breakfast

CS:
Columbia Harbour House
Tangierine Cafe

(I cant even come up with a fourth must do CS - others are good, just not must-dos for me)

CS's we just kinda go with the flow, we tend to try different places every time.

Yeah I think we might end up doing that too! I just wanted to make sure there isn't like a really good QS breakfast or some gem I needed to know about! LOL!

Tony's or Crystal Palace
Donalds Safari Breakfast at Tusker House

Well after a little planning and shuffling around of ADRs, heres what I've got!! :cool1:
Day 1
we'll arrive at CBR around 12-1pm so we'll use our first CS at the OPR food court
Then TS that night at Kona
Day 2
Epcot
CS at Sunshine Seasons
TS at Coral Reef
Day 3
DHS
CS at Pizza Planet
TS at 50's Prime Time
Day 4
AK
CS at Yak and Yeti
Then back over to Epcot for TS at Tokyo Dining (this was the only TS meal DBF and I had on our first trip and I really want to go back and get another window seat. It was just perfect!)
Day 5
MK
Last day TS breakfast at 'Ohana
CS at Cosmic Rays

How does it look!?

ALSO, Before I plan all this I want to make sure that if I check in on the 18th and check out on the 22nd, and I'm on the dining plan, do I get 5 TS and 5 CS, or only 4? Do they include the day you check in, and the day you check out? :confused3 Thanks again everyone!

:thumbsup2Sounds good and makes me hungry! :rotfl2:

And to answer your other question, with the dining plan you get 1 TS per night's stay, so for your stay you would get 4 TS's. HTH's!!!

Aw mann.. Looks like we'll be paying OOP for a TS meal.. I wonder which will be cheapest??! :lmao:
