Well, as much as I hate it, DS's first birthday is coming up in a little over two months and I need to start planning. I'm not sure what theme I want to go with but it is, of course, going to be a some kind of Disney theme :)

They have an appropriate theme with Winnie the Pooh that's for baby's first bday:

They have cute Mikey themes:

Monsters Inc.

Lion King:

Or Lilo and Stitch:

I don't know about this one though...it might be too girly for a boy's bday party but the party will have both boys and girls there. Mikey is a big Stitch fan and I thought I'd be able to find some stuff with just Stitch but I haven't had any luck yet.

So, what would be the best for a boy's first birthday???

He likes them all...that's the problem. He likes his baby mickey that we got him from WDW, he likes his stuff Stitch that we got at TDS, he LOVES to watch Monsters Inc and Lilo and Stitch with his big sis and he LOVES his Simba themed room. It's cute to watch him try to grab Simba off of his sheets :) Anyway, he likes them all and so do I so I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding.

My Number 1 choice is The Lion King.
Theme Music: the Lion King soundtracks of course!

He loves Simba, and it is a purrfect oppurtunity for you to introduce Sir Elton John's music to him and his friends :) I'm a little biased of course, as I am an EJ fanatic ;)

Number 2: Mickey and Pluto. They are both classic Disney characters.

Number 3: Pooh Bear and Friends. Pooh Bear is a classic children's character.

Number 4: Monsters, Inc.

Number 5: Lilo and Stitch

I must repeat my first choice: go with Sir Elton, oops, I mean The Lion King!

Above all, have FUN planning your son's party.

My daughter loved to watch the Winnie the Pooh show so we chose the Winnie the Pooh 1st Birthday! Have fun!

I liked the Winnie the Pooh theme. :)

Although I personally am not a huge Pooh fan I really love that 1st birthday Pooh set. :)

I am right there with you wondering how this past year has gone by so fast. :) I was just talking with my Mom yesterday about starting to plan for Nathan's first b-day.

Happy upcoming 1st b-day to your precious little one! I know that the time just goes by waaaay to fast. My little guy is 16 months old already & sometimes I feel like I just had him, of course, I still look like I just had him!

We did Pooh for my DS's first birthday. His birthday is 2 weeks before Halloween too so we also incorporated lots of Halloween theme too. It was great. Naturally we had the Pooh cake with the figurines on it. Orange & Purple Balloons tied on Halloween (tiny) gift bags as weights. I did candy bags for everyone (adults & children) & gave all the kids those light up twirly things (what are those called anyway)? I have seen them at TDS with Mickey or Buzz on top & they twirl around & light up. The ones we gave to the kids had Pumpin Heads or Witches or Ghosts on them. Those were a big hit. All the parents told me that their kids all brought them into dark closests or bathrooms to show them off! :p

We had the party in a private room at Logan's Roadhouse (similar to Texas Roadhouse) & the staff was WONDERFUL. We pre-printed some Pooh coloring pages from the internet, so the kids were all busy coloring! It's a "loud" place so the kids were able to be loud & the service, food & price was wonderful. (We pre-chose an assortment of affordable menu items to offer to our guests & the restaurant manager agreed to letting us create our own menus for our party, naturally Pooh adorned each menu.) The party would have cost me more at home! Oh....I now just thought of the "best part," I got to leave the mess behind!!! YEAH!!! That WAS the best part!!!

Enjoy & take loads of pictures!! This is a pretty big milestone for your baby!

We just had ds #3 b-day party this last weekend. He will be 3 on 2/28--we had a Dinosaur theme. Ds#4 will be 1 on 4/25 and Ihave been trying to figure out what we are doing. I voted for Winnie the Pooh on your pool. I love winnie the pooh and love the first b-day theme on it. I have also seen a really cute Elmo one thats just for a 1st b-day too.

I'm leaning towards the Pooh theme...just because it's specifically for a first birthday. There's only one FIRST right? Embrace it!!!! Enjoy it while you can.

I'd go with Pooh since there's only one first birthday, but all of your choices are cute. In fact, I even think the Lilo & Stitch one would be appropriate if you played up Stitch a bit in the decorations. Have fun! It's such an exciting time.

I chose Pooh and Tigger, I had them for DS's first birthday and I love them. (It was a different design back then, but cute none the less).

Thank for the opinions...keep 'em coming. The Pooh one is nice, but I like all the other ones too. I also have to think in terms of what will be most exciting for other kids. Like I found a whole bunch of recieps to go along with the monthers theme like a slimey monster punch and if I went with Lilo and stitich we could have like a polynesian themed party and that would be fun, but I can't think of anything I could do along with mickey or pooh. Anyone have any ideas for recipes and games for those two???

With Pooh I'd do a honey pot and bees thing. With Mickey I'd go with cheese since he's a mouse. If you come up with the one you want to do, I bet we can help you with food and games. There are millions of ideas out there.

Oh, I forgot the cutest thing...for the Lion King theme (actually this goes along with Timone and Pumba) they had bugs on a log...It's celerey stuffed with peanut butter with rasins on it. Then they have worms in dirt which is just chocolate pudding with oreo crums on top and gummy worms stuck in it. I'm tempted to go with that theme just for the fun food that goes with it.

A Polynesian Luau sounds good too though...
