Help me pick a summer week for a 40th birthday adults only trip :)

We are heading down from Michigan with a few friends (no kids- woohoo!!) to celebrate our 40th birthdays!! We had planned on going the last week of August, but part of our group can't go then, so now we are trying to decide between June 14-18, July 27-31, or August 14-18. Which week would you pick?? Weather/precipitation? Crowds? Adult events I might not know about? Thanks for you help! We can't wait!

I have only travelled the first week you mention. We had bearable weather (a day or two a trip that were miserable, but for the most part bearable. Crowds didn't bother me (though we are a family that only travels during school breaks, so take that with a grain of salt!) There were tour groups present, but I truly can't think of a negative. Our longer trips are usually in the winter. What I love about a summer trip is super long daylight hours and weather that makes pools and water features a great break!

The june and august dates are right when people are either getting out of school or about to go back to school and they tend to be crowded. I would brave June vs august just because august is more humid and right on the edge of hurricane season starting. The july dates seem interesting to me but that's because the week of july 24 the dis (they run these forums) is having some special things happening for their 10th anniversary (no details on exactly what yet but that week was mentioned in a podcast a couple months ago). I've never gone mid summer so I can't say what crowds might be like but since there is no events like school starting or ending it might offer the best of the summer options.

I would choose June. I'll never go in July again. I've been in August twice, a bit earlier than you're looking at, and you just have to resolve yourself to doing less because of the oppressive heat and humidity. And you have to pretty much give up on looking cute as it' like the surface of the sun...

Definitely June. Not as humid as Aug, plus most Northern schools have not been let out yet. With snow days, we are usually in school until around June 24th or so.

June! It will probably be hot, but July & August will DEFINITELY be hot. Your July date is probably the heaviest crowds of the 3.

We went 2nd week of June in 2012 and high temps were in the 80's 7 out of 8 days (91 on that day).

If I HAD to go back in summer I'd chose June even though that is miserable hot. If I could I'd put if off til October. Lol

From the UP Michigan. We went August 19th for 2 weeks and the first week was so crowded and hot we were melting since we don't have a lot of humidity up here. Hot, hot and crowded until the last week of August.

Don't worry about it. We were not used to the crowds or the heat and we still had fun!

June is the pick here too! It'll be hot but not like July or August! Plan on touring in the morning............break in the afternoon for lunch, pool, and NAP! Then tour again in early evening/night. The parks should be open later to allow for this.
