Ok, here's the deal. A good friend has her college program ending, and she's flying home in about a week. She has a coupon good for 50% off of one of the restaurants listed below. She hasn't been to any, nor have I. So, I come to you for suggestions. She said the Crystal Place sounded interesting, but really doesn't care. My SLIGHT idea was the Corral Reef sounds very interesting. Being a college student, price is slightly a concern, so we not going to the most expensive place simple because we get half off. So, take a glance, and toss in your input....

Oh, and if anyone who knows restaurants better could point out the cheap places that this would be a COMPLETE waste to go to, such as Pecos Bills Cafe.

I suggest you try the O'hana dinner at the Poly:

--good food
--fun atmosphere, like a party yet cozy, great for a send-off farewell
--you can walk around the Poly ground afterwards, watch
the fireworks from the beach (even better than in the restaurant)

I would advise you to skip the L'originale di Roma;
both times I have been there for dinner the meal was
rushed and the food quality is really uneven. Festive,
but not worth your first pick if you only have one choice.

Have a great time!

I haven't eaten at many full service restaurants, but at the least I can tell you what places are cheap enough that you wouldn't go there with a coupong:

Animal Kingdom: you wouldn't use the 50% off for any place here, unless you wanted to do the Donald Breakfastasaurus character breakfast.

Epcot: Not sure, but they seem to all be restaurants. I personally like Chefs de France. Good french onion soup and yummy desserts.

MGM: You'd use it at either Hollywood & Vine (buffet), Mama Melrose, 50s Primetime, Sci-Fi, or Hollywood Brown Derby. Sci-Fi and 50s seem to get better dessert reviews than actual meal reviews, so you may want to skip those (plus they're a lot of burgers, home cooking type food; if you wanted to try somethign different, that wouldn't be the place).

MK: I'd vote for the dinner buffet at Crystal Palace. Heard nothing but great things about it (noise and crowdedness aside). Price-wise, you wouldn't bother with Pecos Bill Café, Columbia Harbour House, The Pinocchio Village Haus, Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station, or Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café. They're all fairly cheap (cheap relative to Disney anyway), quick counter service places.

Ignore the Caribbean Beach places; one's a tiny restauarant and the other's just a food court. Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge is good if you like beef or fish, but it's pricey. Mara at AKL is just a food court as is Roaring Forks at WL (not even a food court, really; more like a fast food area). I'm sure I'm missing info here, but that's what I could come up with off the top of my head.

I would need more input from you, like, what do you guys like to eat? Are you meat eaters, vegetarians, like/dislike seafood, like buffets or hate buffets?

You might also want to check out allearsnet.com...they have menus from everywhere that would give you an idea of selection and price.

If you like good steaks I suggest Le Cellier in Epcot.

OK, well I don't know her that well, but I dislike seafood and steaks. I always joke that I'm a chicken and potato type guy. Buffets are fine....I mena come on, we work at one. :cool1:
