Help me pick a restaurant for picky adults

DH and I will be taking our first empty nest trip in September and it's our 20th anniversary!

We have 1 night at the Poly, 1 at BW (for food and wine) then 2 at Vero Beach. While I would love a nice romantic dinner the menus at the signature restaurants don't appeal to me AT ALL. I've even looked at The Wave and Kona and just felt MEH.

Any suggestions?

At this point I'm leaning towards room service at the Poly to get Ohana food without the commotion. Not sure if I'm being picky or cheap cause when I see $50 for a steak I think that's ridiculous.

Artists Point and Jiko were the restaurants that seemed the most romantic to us of the ones we tried at WDW. Oh and the French restaurant that closed, but that doesn't do you any good.

Nope, no suggestions given that both the menus and prices at signatures don't appeal or seem ridiculous.

My advice is to get whatever the heck you want at whatever restaurant has a menu that appeals to you and whose prices do not seem ridiculous to you. If that means room service at the Polynesian, go for it…you know what will work best for you.

What kind of food are you looking for? Are you looking for steaks? Seafood? Have you looked at Yachtsman? The food there is incredible. However, if you are looking at Signature restaurants, you will be seeing the $50/steak price tag. If you are willing to not do a signature restaurant, there are places that have great food and not so hefty on the price. Two different experiences.

Thanks everyone, Yatchtsman looks like it would work but getting there will be a pain from the Poly and I was hoping to find something along the monorail. I think we'll go with Artist Point via boat!

I've had a similar problem. My DD and I celebrated her 16th birthday at WDW and she wanted to spend that day in MK but then go out for a nice TS dinner, then back to MK for fireworks. She is not exactly a picky eater she just likes simple food. The problem being that the menus are all written in fancy foodie language which is fine with me but is a turn off to her she can't see past the flowery descriptions. I ended up booking GFC because the menu seemed simple and it also fit with our plans to go back to MK. I don't think I would consider it fancy but it is very pretty and the service was excellent. I had a custom cake ordered as a surprise and my DD thought the restaurant had given it to her....I had to tell her it was me. Price wise I think our bill was around $110 including the cake and the tip. The cake was $35 and it was only a cake for 2 people....think large cupcake.

We enjoy the Ohana feast when staying at the poly. Nothing wrong with that. If you're wanting something nice for your actual anniversary dinner that's close to the poly, there's
the Wave (we've enjoyed in the past, but their menu has just changed),
California Grill (very romantic, great views, but very pricey for smallish portions, we didn't have a great experience with the food itself but many rave about it)
Kona (love their food esp breakfast and lunch, but not romantic, can be loud as it's open)
I think i would look at menus for citricos and narccoosees at the GF or Artist Point at WL. See if one of those is appealing to you.

Maybe try the yachtsman when you're over at the BW.

Have a great anniversary trip!

I booked Citricos! There's a steak for DH and I may order a couple of appetizers and dessert instead of an entree. Gosh, it seems like forever since we've dressed up for some fine dining.
Hooray! Have a great time and let us know how you like it!

Its back in a new form - used to Bistro something and now Monsiuer Paul - sorry I can't remember the exact name anymore, it was something super generic and those types of titles/names never stay with me.
