My husband's work won a surprise trip to Disney for March 6th (we found out on Christmas), but we didn't find out about the details until 2 weeks ago...needless to say I'm striking out on almost all of our restaurant reservations because we were so late to the game. We got a few that we wanted, but not all (namely O'hana -- although I check 100 times day hoping something opens up ).
We've never eaten in DD.....and it seems like they have a ton to choose from, but since we've never eaten there I have no idea which one to try and get a reservation for! Which is your favorite and why? We like all kinds of food, not picky at all and my kids will eat almost anything! This would be for dinner....and we'd like a sit down, but if you really rave about something else, we can be flexible! :)
It's my husband, myself and my 2 daughters (3yo & 6yo).

Thanks so much!

Without question our favourite place at DTD is Raglan Road. Who knew that Irish pub grub could taste that good? And the selection of ales is outstanding. Best bread pudding I ever ate. And live entertainment! What more could you ask for?

I second Raglan Road. It has a great atmosphere and fabulous food. If you go on certain nights they have great entertainment and if you can't get a reservation through disney try open table because I believe you can still book through them since raglan road is not owned by disney (although it is on the dining plan)

Another vote for Raglan Road!!!
It is a beautiful restaurant, it was built in Ireland, unassembled, shipped to Orlando and reassembled. The service is outstanding and the food is wonderful. There is a live band everynight but Sunday and Irish Step Dancers as well.
It is a lively atmosphere with excellent food.
We go each and every trip.

I am jumping on the bandwagon...Raglan Road is our favorite! The food and atmosphere is lively and fun. The dancers are incredible, my DD looks forward to seeing them. It is a must for us every year! :cool1:

If you are unable to secure a ressie for Ohana you can try showing up right before they open. We did this a few years ago. We showed up about 20 mins before they opened and when the hostess came to the podium I went up and talked to her and she said we'll get you in. They just sat all their opening ADR's first.

Another vote for Raglan Road! We've gotten in every time without an ADR too!:thumbsup2

Dissenting view of RR. Been there more than once (three I think) and was just not impressed. Perhaps because I don't have any Irish heritage?

The food was OK, the service was slow, but the Guinness was drawn properly (very important!). Nothing that made me say "I need to come back often".

We would vote more for Portobello, House of Blues, Wolfgang Pucks or even Fultons. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Raglan Road! It is only 1 of 3 must do again locations for me (the others being Via Napoli and Flying Fish). I will be back to my favorite Irish Pub come June!

I do suggest reservations because walk ups can be a pretty long wait sometimes (1+ hour at lunch in October, 2 hour for dinner in May, ect). If you can't get one through Disney Dining, try Open Table since RR is not a Disney owned and operated location.

If Raglan Road does not appeal to you, consider taking a leisurely boat ride from DTD to SSR and dine at the Turf Club. I consider it a hidden gem.:thumbsup2

We really enjoyed Paradiso 37, they had a nice menu and we thought the food was really good! I would go back there again!

Of coures TRex is really fun for the kids, food is like a Rainforest Cafe, but fun place.

I am going to have to try Raglan Road though with all these great reviews!

Yet another vote for Raglan Road... We try to go there every trip. It used to be much easier to get into, but word of mouth has made it much tougher to walk up and get a table. If you go, be sure to catch the band and dancer. Pretty sure they start at 7 PM. Love that place... Get the appetizer for two! And the best bread pudding ever!

Jim

I agree with the majority. Raglan Road is an excellent restaurant with an almost overwhelming variety of entrees.

We loved T-Rex. Cool atmosphere and good food. Our party got the ribs, lasagna, tortellini and fire roasted chicken. All very yummy. If you have trouble getting a reservation, call T-Rex directly instead of going through Disney dining, you'll have many more options...

Wolfgang Puck is absolutely fantastic! Desserts are to die for. For the kids you might want to try either Rainforest or T-Rex, although they are both very loud and hectic. I agree with PP who said that the real hidden gem is across the water at SSR with The Turf Club! Great food and service - we have visited severl times. For a really nice counter service lunch Earl of Sandwich is great!

Raglan Road is very good - ask to sit where you can watch the entertainment (if you like that kind of thing) because many tables do not have a view of the band or dancer. We also like Wolfgang Puck's Cafe and the Puck's Express in the Marketplace (takes less time to eat, maybe easier with kids). T-Rex for children - very fun, ok food. Portobello for good Italian, Earl of Sandwich is great counter service!
