Hi everyone,

We can either:

March 22 - 29, 2008 (Easter week in the states)
or
May 31 - June 8, 2008

It would be a bummer if the weather was nasty. Isn't it likely to be very cold and grey and rainy in late March, in that part of France?

I also wonder what the difference will be in air fares.

Thanks for any input!

Nobody has an opinion about March vs. June??

I'm wondering if there's some weird "Everyone in Germany Go to Disneyland" holiday right on one of those sets of dates.

In other words... BUMP

I would choose June because Europe is celebrating Easter too! :thumbsup2
In France, Germany and in the UK will be holidays. So the parks will be stuffed!

And the weather can be cold at the end of March. But it could also be nice spring weather! Warm and sun.

I would choose June! :woohoo:

That week in May/June will probably be UK half-term so will be busy then too, although not as busy as Easter! Myself, I would go for June because you will have the lighter evenings.

Regarding airfare prices, try pricing up the equivalent dates for 2007, this may give you an idea of costs.

Actually I don't think the parks will be that crowded for your dates in March - most holidays seem to start from the end of March. There are more likely to be holidays during your May/June dates. But, if you have the choice and there isn't a huge difference in flight prices, I think that May/June will be a nicer time to visit.

Could somebody tell me what exactly "half-term" is? Is this school holidays for the whole UK or just for some areas?

And when is this year half-term? :confused3

Hi!
I would choose June for much better weather (this year my daughter is back to school after the half term hol on 4 June, so def quieter than Easter hol) but there are some benefits with March. It will be kids go free season in March but not June also if you're looking at 2008 I think the 15th celebrations will still be running in March but not June.

No idea about the airfares though :confused3

The dates do vary from area to area for other hols but this half term is the same for most of the country because it includes the end of May bank hol.
Our 2007 dates are :
start Sat 26 May, end Sun 3 June

This half term dates are not for Scotland as we start our summer break earlier than our English counterparts;)

Ignore me!! I was looking at 2007, not 2008  I still think the May/June dates would work out better though!

Thanks everyone, looks like June is the winner!

If I'm reading correctly, schools in France will get out on the Tuesday that we're there, but all of the GB schools will be back in session. The weekend would likely be crowded, but we are going to aim for staying Sunday night - Friday night, because the rates are so much cheaper on the weekdays.

Too bad we'll miss the 15th anniversary special things... that's kind of sad! We do have dates we could go in early February, but blechh, I don't want my one trip there to have ugly cold weather. I get enough of that at home.
