We have been to the parks several times and are Veterans of the summertime crowds. We plan, plan, plan. DH & I were able to get away for a few days next week though without kids. We have never been to WDW in November (well, once eons ago) and we don't know how to pack.

What is the weather like? Will we need jackets or just sweaters for the evenings? Will it be swimming weather? Long pants for days in the parks or shorts and sandals? Tank top weather or long sleeves?

Sorry about all the questions. We went last February expecting warm days and cool night but a cold snap hit and we were wearing winter coats, gloves and hats.

I would watch the weather forecast for starters, but that does not always guarantee the "expected" weather. We just got back this past weekend, and we had highs from 70 - 86, and low humidity most of the time. We were comfortable in shorts & tshirts, and occasionally needed a jacket later in the evening.

I do have to say, it was funny seeing the lifeguards wearing clothes to stay warm in (pants, sweatshirts, jackets, etc) and guests still swimming. And yes, we did get in the pool a couple different evenings.

I hope this helps!

We went last year the last week of Nov/first wee of Dec.
The first day we were in shorts and short sleeves. It was mid 70's and BEAUTIFUL. THEN IT GOT COLD:eek:!!
It blindsided a lot of people. I am a bit of an over planner and packer(especially for a guy.) So packed stuff for layering cold such as weather Under Armour, hoodies, etc.Stuff you pile on top of each other to stay warm but are easy to peel off if it does warm up. We bought my DD a Tink pullover at Epcot to layer her a bit better but the cold snap blindsided everyone.
Check the weather reports before you go but it seems to be kinda unpredictable this time of year.
Have fun!

I'll be leaving in 2 weeks for my 3rd November trip. It's my favorite time to visit and the weather has always been beautiful!! I think you would be comfortable in t-shirts and pants/jeans/capris. Maybe shorts during the day but it's usually pretty chilly early mornings and evenings. We bring hoodies/sweatshirts. We always wear our tennis shoes, my toes would get too cold in sandals. Hope you have a great time!!!!

Thanks for the tips. I was just having this same discussion with my daughter. To make matters worse it is only a 4 day trip so we are trying to pack with just carry on luggage. So space could be limited!

Hi! I have been wondering the same thing?:confused3 We arrive 11-18 and are wondering if we need to bring shorts or swim suits?? Will it be to cool to swim?? Love some packing input!

We like to wear our colder gear onto the plane to save space. Plus we are leaving from Ohio, so it's always a bit unpredictable and colder here. If I were in your shoes I would probably travel in jeans, a jacket, and whatever else you may need. You could always change once you get there. That way you save space in your suitcase. Even in May here we wore our jackets onto the plane so we could save space.

Another great idea...I wonder how many layers I can get on?

With Florida in November, best thing to do is be prepared for about anything. I am bringing us a jacket, rain gear, swimsuits, shorts and pants. Remember, most of the pools are heated, so even if the temp is chilly, you can usually still swim.

Hey all I Live in Flordia and its a mixight now.. chilly in the mornings and night still a little humid during day high for weekend is 74 lows in 50s I would plan on it all bring a light jacket/windbreaker with hood that can double for rain and a sweathsirt to layer. also plan on pants/jeans for night time with shorts for days in park.. we usually layer when ever we go anywhere it hasbeen a little cooler then past yrs so far hope this helps ya!

Sweet, after our recent New England weather I am looking forward to my upcoming Nov trip.

ugh swimming in 70º weather???? Im a Cali girl and its winter coat time when it hits 60º for me:lmao: Im also having this packing dilemma...I will be at the world for 2 weeks starting the beginning of Dec. and Im starting to decide on what Im going to take now....I will be taking 2 suitcases because Im taking my winter coat as Im sure i will need it because I freeze to death and Im flying SW so I get 2 bags checked for free:thumbsup2 and also that bag can double for souvenir stuff I bring back:goodvibes but Im not sure how the humidity is going to factor in when I get there..we really dont have to deal with much humidity at all over here so Im not sure how the real feel is going to be:confused3

This Texas girl is bringing shorts, a few dresses, jeans, and a bikini:thumbsup2

we have gone numerous times in Nov. We usually layer and rent a locker to store til evening time. Last year it was downright hot. I'm usually ok with sweatspants and tshirts and for some reason didn't pack myself any shorts I ended up buying some capri sweatpants to wear. so the weather is very unpredictable

I had the same issue last year. I packed and repacked 15 times, the last 5 being the night before we left.:rotfl2:

I am so happy that I kept up with the weather reports and then threw in some extra sweatshirts and wore a coat. We bought gloves in WDW and STILL froze, imagine if I would have believed the reports earlier in the week of 72 degree temps, it didn't get past 42-50 until the last day we were there.

We went the first week in November and then I heard there was a cold snap a week or two later so don't know where pp comes from that they think it was hot?? Isn't it usually hot in GA?

We live somewhere that stays hot most of the year maybe that's why.

I just got back and I saw everything from shorts and tanks to long pants and fleece jackets at the same time.

One morning I heard a woman say "I hope it warms up soon" ( she was in long pants and a jacket) and I was walking in a short sleeved tee-shirt and capris perfectly comfortable.

The sunshine on your skin makes a world of difference too:earsboy:

We were there the middle of November last year, and the weather was perfect. Warm days, cool nights, ONE rainstorm the entire week (and it ended with a rainbow! :lovestruc)

We wore shorts/capris, short sleeved shirts and sandals. Occasionally we would wear an extra layer when we were out late. We swam in the afternoon and were very comfortable, but we attempted a few evening swims and the water was pretty cold. It was cold at home (WV) that week - I was regretting taking our coats on the plane because lugging them around the airport was a pain.

I'm nervous about the heat during our early June trip this year because we were so spoiled by that November Florida weather.

This will be our 4th Thanksgiving trip and I'm packing for all possibilities (and it's much harder this time since I'm trying to go carry-on only!) I'm packing some thin long sleeve shirts and slightly larger short sleeve shirts, with the intention of layering the SS shirts over the LS shirts if it gets chilly. I'm also packing capris and 1 pair of long knit pants for each of us.

I'm having us wear a sweatshirt and jeans on the plane, along with layering a fleece jacket under a down jacket (not one of the really puffy ones but one that's somewhat thinner) for my DD and a sweatshirt material jacket under a fall jacket for me. This way, we'll have more jacket options when we get down to WDW (we live in the Northeast so wearing all those layers will be appropriate for when we leave here and arrive back.)

As for swimming, I'm not really counting on it but I'm bringing a swimsuit for my DD anyway since it doesn't take much room.

Helen

Just wondering if there are any reports from those just back re: what worked best for them? I am starting to pack for arrival 11/18!

We're back. Thanks for all the tips here. I brought 2 pr capris, t-shirts, tanks, 2 pr jeans, a cardigan and a swimsuit. I wore them all. DH brought the same except shorts i/o capris. It was warm enough to swim one or two afternoons but one day was a jeans day. I bought a sweater there one night because it was very cool. I wore it over the sweater I brought down.

The days were in the low 80s for the most part (one day low 70s) but the nights were much cooler, mid 50s. It was enjoyable weather and we felt prepared.
