I love the name Quinn... and the first thing that came to mind was THAT SONG Briar Rose posted!!

I'm going to be singing it the rest of the day! :teeth:

BTW, my name is male, too, used so much on females now it's now more of a girl's name.

Voted for Alexander. I know Quinn is a boy's name, but it sounds girly to me. Xander is unique and more masculine, Alexander is just a strong name.

I voted for Alexander since I like the middle name of Cole. Or, you could switch it to Cole Alexander.

My DS son is Quinn Thomas so occasionally we will call him QT:sunny:

myself.:o My DS is Patrick Howard-Josef--after his 2 Grandfathers.:o

Wow! I can't believe all the replies. You guys aren't helping me out much here- it's still close to 50/50. ;) I'm just stressing out with this whole name thing. My DH picked Sebastian's name, and I wasn't sure about it at first. But, it just fits his personality so well. That's why I'm overly concerned about this name. I want it to fit this baby. I guess it will no matter what, right? Thanks again for all the responses!!!

Well, I voted for Quinn before I read your other son was Sebastian. I want to change my vote! Both my dd's have 9 letter names, and they do complain sometimes because they are long. I couldn't imagine how they would fight if one had a long name and the other didn't. (You will find sibs fight over who has more square footage in their bedroom, who got the bigger cookie, etc. Yesterday they were fighting over who could take the plastic cover off my new mop! Sheesh!) They do love each other, though :)

Think of how the names will sound together as you're shouting them across a crowded playgroud, "Sebastian, Alexander, it's time to go!" or "Sebastian, Quinn, it's time for supper!" To me, Alexander flows better. I also have a friend with a son called Xander, and I like that, but unless you have a nickname for Sebastian, I'd definitely go with Alexander.

Also, don't underestimate the "QuAC" factor. You don't want your son to end up being called "Ducky!" (And that Mighty Quinn song is now stuck in my head from thinking about this ;) )

I hope you have a beautiful heathy son :) Good luck!

Laurie

I voted for Quinn. When he is older you could call him Q for short. My DS 11 is named Tyrone (by his birth parents) and we call him T or Big T. He loves both nicknames.

Those are both cool names. Is "Micca" out of the question?;)

I voted for Alexander Cole because I really like Cole for a name...I know this doens't help you any, but I think it would be neat to call him Cole.

Voted for Quinn...I teach and currently have 7!!!! students named Alex or some crazy variations on the spelling--- like ALICK (Alicksander)-- all I can think of is "A Lick" -- gross!

How about Quentin Cole?
Congrats and bestr wishes for a safe delivery and healthy baby. ! I have a 9 month DS.

I like switching Alexander Cole to COLE ALEXANDER!!!

Best of luck to your appending arrival:rose:

Here, Here!
I, too, love COLE ALEXANDER!!!
But whatever you decide, have a happy and healthy baby boy.

Quinn---It is still unique. Alexander is becoming quite the popular name.

As the mother of Alexander (6), let me tell you this...you're lookin' for trouble if you name him Alex! Just kidding of course, but this was a topic of conversation with a "grown-up" Alex. We decided that when you are in a public place, "ALEX!!!!" is the name you most often hear yelled!!

Please don't take offense, but when I hear the name "Quinn", I think of that song, "Quinn the Eskimo"...

I know a Cole, and I think that is a COOL name...::yes::

Thanks everyone!!! Wow! I can't believe there are over 200 votes!! So, Alexander is a little ahead of the game right now, but barely. I'm not sure if this is helping me since the voting is so close to 50/50.

I DO like COLE ALEXANDER too, but my son has a friend named Cole, and I would feel weird using that name right now. I don't even know how I could handle a third possibility right now.

UGH!!! Why is this so hard???!!!

My sweet, little nephew's name is spelled Aleksander. They call him Aleks for short. I guess I am partial to the name Alexander.

Good luck with the naming!
