Help me Make some Magic.....

We are leaving in about one week. It's our first family trip to Disney. So excited, but stressing. Want to make the trip MAGICAL to DS (13) DS (9) & DD (6). We had such a great time on our first Disney Cruise earlier this year.

Help me get creative.....on special extras I can have a part in!

For starters, when Disneycatalog.com had the huge mickey mouse duffel bags on clearance (monogrammed), I secretly purchased them for our three kids. I will surprise them with the bags and about $75-100 each in disney dollars.

I also secretly purchased towel sets with their favorite characters and their names embroidered on them. I could surprise them with those at some point.

Help me come up with some other ideas.

We are staying at the AKL & have UPH.

Okay, are you driving or flying?

We ahve driven oddles of times and each time it has taken at least two days to get there. If we hadn't fought or tried to beat each other silly in the two\three hours it was between rest stops when we got back into the car there was always a suprise on our seat. It was something that could be done in the car to keep us busy and out of the drivers hair. Sometimes it was a CD that we all would like, generally a Disney soundtrack or something like that, a book for the book worm, a beading kit so we could have a new necklace/bracelet when we got to Disney......all of it was Disney kinda things. It all depends on the hobbies of the kids. Another thing would be a Disney baseball or something like that that can be played with at the rest stop or a yo-yo or another little trinket that will keep them from fighting. Even kids that normally get along can get cranky with travel.

For the hotel, Disney magic does not need to be created it is pretty much magicial enough on it's own!

ok, there are many ways to be creative, i dont know if you would like to spend alot of money or not but www.giftsofalifetime.com comes up with surprises for in the park , perhaps a scavenger hunt the whole family can enjoy, or they can decorate a hotel room and leave surprises. www.pixiegifts.com can leave baskets full of goodies in the room also as a surprise but prices start at 75 . Or make your own baskets of goodies and when the kids go out say you forgot something and run back and arrange everything.

I'm making up baskets for everyone's rooms for our trip in December. We'll have 20 people/9 rooms so that's quite a few baskets!!

For the kids' baskets, so far I have
--character t-shirts (currently on sale at the Disney Store for $7.99)
--Disney Pez dispensers and refill candy (found Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and refills at Dollar Tree for $1 each; Mickey and Minnie at KMart for $1.39 each, and Kermit at Michaels for $1.69)
--Disney coloring books for the little ones and puzzle/maze book for the older one (couldn't find Disney puzzle book so did Spongebob)
--disposable camera for each (Disney princess one new at Target for $6.99 for the girls; Spongebob also from Target for boys)
--including an autograph book/pen and pressed penny collection folder and a roll of pennies and quarters for the machines
--favorite snacks for down times at the hotel
--I'm also mailing the two not riding down with me a travel book of puzzles, car games, trivia, etc to keep them busy during the ride

I know you can also arrange with the Disney florist to have gifts delivered to your room. They have pre-made baskets or can customize for you, but they seemed a little pricey for what was included. Check it out here http://www.disneyflorist.com/

Some folks have the new interactive Tour Guide Mickey or My Pal Mickey (can't remember the exact name) pre-purchased and waiting for them, but we'd need more than one and at $50 or $60 each, couldn't afford it. You can rent them as well, and then decide if you want to purchase.
