Help me like yogurt!

I'm not a yogurt fan either, but I will eat Yoplait..the original in the red container...(not the lower fat blue container or the whips..yuck). That is literally the only brand I will eat. I don't care if it's full of sugar...lol I"ll eat any of the berry flavors, cherry, pomegranate, etc..my fave is the strawberry or the raspberry.

I've tried greek yogurt and I think its worse than regular yogurt..

I do eat the yogurt parfaits at McD's as well, not sure what brand the vanilla yogurt is they use, but its good.

I'm going to have to go to the grocery store tonight to try some of this stuff!

I'm in my first trimester so I would rather try to choke down yogurt first, then take the capsules as a last resort- yes I realize they are the exact same thing, I can't help that I am nuts!

These responses are so creative, and made me laugh out loud. I think I will try a Stoneyfield vanilla, a whipped something or other, and a Greek first, and get some granola, and see what happens. What an exciting life I lead when DH is out of town!! :dance3:

Yogurt is gross. I can't help you.

No doubt. Especially when we had to make our own in microbiology in college and then look at it under the microscope. I cannot cannot cannot eat it.

Instead I take probiotic tablets. Much easier than trying to choke down sour milk flavored snot

I love Greek Yogurt. I but both the plain to stir things in or fruit types. Chobani Pineapple is very good and fage strawberry. Yum.

One of the things that make the Chobani Pineapple soooooo good is that it is one of the few Chobani's that is made with 2% fat versus the others that are 0% fat. The yogurt part actually loses its bitter taste with the 2%. My cousin is also trying to like yogurt. She's having a tough time and says it tastes like dirty, gross, smelly feet.:confused3 She seems to handle the Chobani Pineapple really well.

I find that Brown Cow makes a very nice Maple flavor that's pretty easy to get down (also higher fat content).

Adding pure maple syrup to plain yogurt is pretty good too.

I take probiotics (the capsules) everyday because I have IBD.

I also am not a huge fan of yogurt but do like YoCrunch and Yoplait Whips.

Yogurt is gross. It's spoiled food (like wine and blue cheese which I also hate).

You want the active yogurt cultures, not the yucky yogurt. SO go buy some acidophilius pills and just take those.

LOVE Yogurt!! Eat it everyday. But HATE that Greek stuff. :scared: It tastes like it's been eaten BEFORE! :scared1:

A men. I love yogurt and I feel like I am the only one that doesn't like Greek yogurt, people here just gush over it.

What you said is completely the way I feel. My son can't digest milk and he throws it up 3 hours later and it smells just like Greek yogurt tastes.

Sorry if I offended anyone with that description.

I've always disliked yogurt - pretty much felt the same way that you did.. Then for health reasons I had to eat it every day.. I went with Activia and must say that after the first few times I actually got to the point where I liked it..:goodvibes

My favorites are cherry; blueberry; and mixed berry.. I really think it's something that you have to "acquire" a taste for..

Good luck! :goodvibes

I didn't read all the way through this thread, but I have a friend who has to eat yogurt for health reason and she hates it so she FREEZES hers and says it tastes so much better.

I make my kids smoothies with yogurt(I have used vanilla, strawberry, or banana flavored), milk, bananas, strawberries, and some ice cream and my kids always beg for more. I always freeze my bananas that would go to waste and use them for this reason.

I don't really care for yogurt either. I used to like the thick custard like strawberry banana yoplait, but they don't make it anymore. The only kind I actually like to eat now is Publix brand vanilla with sprinkles in it! :upsidedow A kid I babysat years and years ago used to have me fix him this for lunch every day, and I got to where I liked it.

was never a yogurt fan and still not, the only kind i eat and enjoy is danone creamy vanilla flavor...........can it that plain or use it as a yogurt parfait with the granola and fruit yum yum..............

I like the Yoplait Light better than the fruit on the bottom. That stuff tastes like chalk. Also, mixing with fruit and granola will help. I love that!

I've been eating a good deal of Yoplait Light as a substitute for ice cream. It's pretty good and it has helped keep my hips in check.

This! :thumbsup2 Love Yoplait Light - so many flavors! I love to put M&Ms in mine for dessert! :lovestruc

My grandmother was like you. She hated yogurt so much, she even hated the word yogurt. She said it even sounded gross! :rotfl:

If you are trying to boost the good bacteria in your system then you can buy Culturelle capsules over the counter at most pharmacies. They make a regular formula and children's version. DS's Pediatrician always recommends sprinkling the contents of the children's capsule in some applesauce for DS when he is having tummy issues like when he is on antibiotics.

Try the Culturelle. Same health benefits without the gag factor of yogurt. :thumbsup2
Telling someone who hates yogurt how to disguise it is sort of like telling a vegetarian to hide the liver with vegetables. Not going to work. Take the capsules - way more natural than 90% of the yogurts. Some of today's yorgurts don't even have the live acidophius so the real capsules would truly be better for you.

vanilla yogurt w granola different flavors with sliced fruit what ever you prefer

I never really liked yogurt, but one time I was flying and was so hungry and that was what we got on the plane...and it made me very sick - to the point where I don't even remember my 4 days in Dallas. Of course, I swore I'd never eat it again.

I do eat the yogurt parfaits at McD's as well, not sure what brand the vanilla yogurt is they use, but its good.

BUT then I tried the parfaits at McDonald's and loved the kind of yogurt they used. So I researched, and researched...and ended up talking to a woman at work about it, who had a cousin who was a manager at McD's. So she called her and found out that the yogurt they use is made by Dannon.

So, to make a long story short - after trying every Dannon vanilla flavored yogurt, I found that Dannon Light & Fit vanilla had to be the one they use. I love it - but ONLY with granola mixed in (the texture thing). It tastes like vanilla pudding, to me. :thumbsup2
