We have just purchased points at BWV through a re-sale. :cool1: ROFR was waived, all the papers have been signed and we are waiting now for the deed to be recorded in our name so we can become REAL members. ::yes::

I'm hoping everything will be in place by the end of January. My worry is due to the fact that we plan to make our first trip "home" the first week of April. We would prefer to get a one-bedroom, but will settle for a studio if we have to. We would like to stay at BWV, but will also be happy at any of the homes.:cloud9:

Should I be worried?:worried: It will only be about 60 days from the time we will make our ressie until arrival.

Also, since this is my first time going through DVC, I don't know the exact procedure. :confused3 I'm sure everything will be in my membership packet, but am a little anxious to know how it will work.:hyper:

One more thing, if possible. Is there somewhere on the Boards that outline DVC member benefits? I'd like to look them over if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

honestly it might be tough to get into BWV within 60 days, not definately but maybe....

but if you are flexible with resorts I would imagine you will get a room at one of the DVC resorts for your time.

Congratulations and Welcome Home, neighbor, we stayed at BWV for the first time in December. I think you could get into BWV during your time frame, if not right away, then on a waitlist. Some people have written about getting into BWV during the busy December period using points in holding, so it's been done. Here's some Pixie dust for you!

Congratulations!

It sounds like you are very flexible as far as the size and location of your accomodations. The first week in April is after Easter this year, so that's a plus. (We're on Spring Break that week too). I'm willing to bet that you will be able to get something. You can always book at one resort and waitlist for BWV.

Have fun on your trip!

If you know your closing date, you should normally be in the DVC computer within a week following. You can call MS and they will provide your membership number (they'll cross reference your name and other info to find the contract number if you don't get it from the seller).

Once you are in the DVC system, you can begin making reservations immediately. Your information packet may not come for awhile, so don't wait until you have that in hand before calling for that reservation.

Welcome Home!

Thanks for the advice everybody.

I will call this morning and see if anybody there knows me yet. ;)

Another question I have is about the referral system. Since we've bought, a couple friends of ours are interested in buying. How does the referral system work? I'm assuming they would need to buy from Disney directly in order for their to be any perk for me?

Thanks again!

They need to buy direct from Disney, and you need to live in a state that doesn't forbid it. We have referred several buyers, but we live in Minnesota, and are not allowed to get the bonus.
