I am new to the WISH board. I am fed up and sad. It's time to do something.

I lost 60lbs about 2yrs ago, had a baby and now, 13 mo's later, need to lose that weight plus 10 more lbs all over again.

I know the WW program, I know I want to be happy and lose the weight again. I don't know if going back I will be successful. Has anyone gone through this? If you lost and regained, were you successful at losing again? If I know how to do it, should I just do it and not go to the meetings?

How about the new tools? The electronic points finder and calcualtor.....are they better than the old standard paper and slide scale? Should I invest in them?

I know I can do this again, just need a boost.

Lewski709-

You CAN do it! I know you can!

In 2002 I joined WW's in January and lost 37 pounds by the end of May. I went on a long weekend and just couldn't get back into going to my meetings. I kept the majority off for the summer but gained most back by my WDW trip that November. Then spring of 2003, DH went to Kuwait for 2 1/2 months. I stress ate so much while he was gone and gained all but 10 lbs of what had lost.

So after he came back last year I joined again in June. I have lost over 40lbs this time and am almost at goal. It was fairly easy starting again since I knew I did it once. This time I had WISH and that has made all the difference. I now exercise and feel so good and I know this time it is for good. It feels like a lifestyle and I learned that it isn't a diet I go on, get where I feel good and go off and start eating like I was before. I must continue eating healthy and watch my points, but I will just get more points when on maintenance.

You can do it!

I too lost with WW. I lost 45 pounds after finally deciding that I was done having babies .........kept it off for a while, went back to work and s-l-o-w-l-y gained back 12 pounds over the last 2 1/2 years. I'm now following the WW plan again - my stick-skinny 11 y.o. DS is always playing with my "point finder" checking labels on everything in the house...and then he checks to make sure I've written everything down! It's like living with the WW Police!!:p ...but I've found that WW is the ONLY eating plan that is realistic for me....and I've lost 4 pounds since I got back on track....

I know you can do it....you can do ANYTHING if you really want it bad enough and set your mind to it!

YES! YES! YES!!!!!

You can do it!!!! You have found the absolute BEST support system ever!! (and we all love Disney, what more could you ask for???))

I use the flex pts system on my palm pilot -- use whatever system you like that works for you. We can help you modify to the new system if you don't want to invest in anything yet. Though I hear the flex pt calculator is awesome and very user friendly.

take it a day at a time, mini-goals and baby steps and you will get there!

btw, I posted a pic on the WISH family. That is my before pic, it'll be a while before I can post an after as I am starting again TODAY. Anyhow, it took a lot to post that FAT pic and I hate it.

You can do it, you can do it!!!

I had lost 50 lbs on WW to attain Lifetime Member status and then slowly gained about 10 of it back before getting PG back in 2002. Needless to say, I gained more weight with pregnancy than came melting off post-baby. I finally returned to WW last September about 18 months after DS was born. Since then I have lost the 27 lbs that I had gained so I am back to goal weight. It is possible! I have renewed my zeal to keep it off this time. If I can do it, you totally can too! Keep us in your loop for support!

I joined WW for the first time in Feb. I had gained 35 pounds after my 2nd child (now 3). Now that my 3rd is 14 months I was finally ready to put myself first occassionaly. It was hard for me to accept that I was worth the effort. I do want to be healthy for my kids and DH and I don't want them to be ashamed of a fat mom/wife but I am first and foremost doing this for ME. I've lost 25 pounds since 1/1 and while the rate is slowing down I am in this for the long haul.

I do go to meetings but since it is at work it is easy for me. If you think you can stay on track without meetings I think you'd find lots of support here.

Your DS's are adorable!!!

You can do it! The first time I joined WW I lost weight but I guess I wasn't ready or committed enough and I quit. The second time I lost around 20 lbs but then I became pregnant so I stopped WW. I started up again this past July, on my own, and I'm sticking with it. I've lost 31 lbs, I exercise, journal (although I took a break) and weigh in every Friday morning. If I can do it, you can too! I just focus on small goals in order to get to the ultimate goal. I used to just focus on my target weight but the target seemed so far away that I would get discouraged. I just take it day by day and if I have a bad day, I try to make up for it the next day. Good luck, you can do it, you have come to the right place!

Congratulations on taking a big step and starting WW again!! You absolutely can do this!! We know this because we've all been exactly where you are right now!!

Besides, you've got a not-so-secret weapon on your side this time--WISH!!! There's always someone around for a little advice, a little inspiration, a little motivation--whatever you need!! Welcome to our WISH family, Lewski!!! I'm glad you're here! :D
