Help me find new TV shows to watch!

On NetFlix, I suggest Dexter and Heroes. Love them both! Dexter is a lot more R-rated and a bit difficult to get in to (he's a serial killer and the hero of the show? hmmm...).

I'm also a fan of True Blood (again, definately R-rated!).

House is an amazing show and one of those that I can actually watch episodes of again and again. Lost is also very good.

On regular TV, I love Medium, Ugly Betty and Ghost Whisperer.

I love The Office. You can rent Seasons 1 - 5. Season 6 is on now. You really need to start with Season 1 and get to know the characters. If you just try to watch it now, you probaby won't get the humor. There is so much history there.

I've also been enjoying Dexter, though I will say that I've lost a TAD bit of interest on Season 3 but that could be because I watched so much Dexter over the holidays. I've still got a few episodes left.

That's really all I have time for. I'd love to watch some of the others mentioned but I don't have much TV time.

Oh, my kids love Law and Order: SVU. It is really good and there are always marathons on.

Project Runway on Lifetime!
It just started last week-so its perfect time to start watching-its been voted the best reality show on TV:thumbsup2

The Middle-hilarious!
Modern Family-great
Big Bang theory-a laugh fest!
30 Rock-love it-always wins best Comedy show
The Office

DH just got a significant paycut so we are going to be spending a lot more time on the weekends at home.
If you want to try to catch new series as they're getting started, you can find summaries of all the new shows starting this winter, in this message:

We are looking for some new shows to watch, as we have a netflix subscription.
With Netflix, you really have a great option. Given that you like Lost and 24, I'd recommend you pick up the following television series, from the beginning, and watch them straight through. They are shows that many fans of Lost and 24 also enjoyed, and, best of all, you can watch them on Netflix from the beginning, and be assured of getting an arguably satisfying ending:

Alias
X-Files
Quantum Leap
Life on Mars (the UK version if you prefer; it was better)

Also, if you haven't had HBO or Showtime, you probably haven't been in a position to see their truly excellent drama series presented the way they were intended:

Sleeper Cell (probably the best television series ever presented)
The Wire (a close second)
Deadwood
Six Feet Under
The Sopranos
Rome
The L Word
Dexter (still in production)
True Blood (still in production)
Big Love (still in production)
The Tudor (still in production)
Nurse Jackie (still in production)
Secret Diary of a Call Girl (still in production)

I have so many that i like!! my very favorite shows are.

TRue Blood- HBO
Big love- HBO
Weeds- showtime
Dexter-showtime

I've also been enjoying Dexter, though I will say that I've lost a TAD bit of interest on Season 3 but that could be because I watched so much Dexter over the holidays. I've still got a few episodes left.

Hang in there.. it gets better! I also lost interest in Season 3, but it does pick up again!

Modern Family and Glee- you can catch up with both online.

My favorites are Friday Night Lights, The Good Wife, Lie To Me, Two and a Half Men, Private Practice, Survivor, The Amazing Race, American Idol and House Hunters (I hate to admit it but I like to see what houses are like around the county and around the world). I also love According to Jim but it was canceled last year. I think that there are still reruns out there. Maybe on WGN?

We also borrow all of our movies and video games from our local library. They have great website where we can search and then place it on hold. If our library doesn't have it, they will get it from another one. We're in a suburb of Chicago and we've gotten movies from as far away as Davenport, IA.

I seriously watch way too much TV! But here are my suggestions:

Current shows:
Lost
Fringe
Chuck
Vampire Diaries (surprised how much we are enjoying this)
Survivor (I am so excited for the next season!)
Amazing Race
30 Rock
The Office

Shows still on but not in season:
Weeds
True Blood
Mad Men (this show is seriously the best show on television...stunning)
Dexter

Oldies but goodies:
Alias (this is my absolute favorite show EVER)
Arrested Development (this is the funniest show I have ever seen)
Veronica Mars
Gilmore Girls
Friends
ER

I am not a procedural crime fan which is why you won't see any of those type of shows on my list....but I know there are some really popular ones there. I watch a ton of reality tv too, but those don't always stand the test of time.....I have rewatched some seasons of Amazing Race and Survivor though and it was really fun!

A great show that a lot of people seem to be overlooking is Leverage. It's basically Ocean's Eleven, the series.
