As planning has it, we will have 1-2 days en-route to the gulf coast this year.

So I thought why not finally get towed Harry Potter. We have one universal and iOA pre-potter but not since. And we always stayed onsite.
There are now 6 of us. So one night onsite would be around $700.:scared1:

And the tickets. Oh the tickets. Should I just do a one day pass and skip universal all together? It's a btdt kind of place for me. So those tickets would be cheaper. A 2 day is about $250 more for our party. And adding park hopper would go up again.

In trying to keep it as budget as possible, I'm thinking the on day. And stay off site. Will we be miserable on lines? Is it worth it to just bite the hotel bullet? Remind me of the early perks? Or costs like parking if I stay offsite.
(probably saving at least $500 on n offsite room for the night)

Help me make a decision.

When are you planning to visit?

If you want experience the WWoHP and Diagon Alley, you will need a two park pass...otherwise you won't be able to ride the Hogwarts Express train between the two parks.

There are no discounts for single day admissions and the two day tickets are only about $40 more...both examples are park-to-park tickets so you can hop.

There is a special going on right now for a third day free when you buy the two day ticket but those have to be used by May 22nd. Not sure when you're visiting so those may not be available.

Week of July 4th!:scared1:
Thank you for the park hop tip!

You can stay at Cabana Bay with 6 people in one room. You don't get fast passes but you do get early entry. You would have to buy your express passes yourself if you want them.

You need a park to park ticket to ride the Hogwarts Express.

You may look at staying onsite 1 night which would give you the express pass the day prior and after that night. So 2 days express for a one night stay.
