We are going Oct 24-Oct 31. Right now we are booked at Riverside with a 40% off code. Now that free dining is extended, I am debating weather or not that is the better deal. We would have to spend $600 on food. 2 adults 1DD who will turn six on the trip. We have booked Ohana, Cape May Clam Bake and 1900 breakfast already. Any opinions on what we should do. Dining plan free or keep our 40% room code.

what kind of park tickets do you have now? That would make a difference...if you already have tickets purchased, then free dining probably wouldn't do much for you since you'd have to buy tickets again .

Did you go on line & try booking the free dining deal (if you do, make sure you're getting a quote on the right tickets...the system automatically defaults to 1 day more than the number of nights you ask for, so if you're booking 8 nights, it will put the quote including 9 nights tickets. If you only want 8, make sure you click to change that. Also make sure it's quoting the same level of room...if your 40% off room is a special room-type, make sure the free dining quote is giving you the same choice on the room.

If you get the DDP (TS, CS, snack) at a moderate for free dining you are saving just under $96 per night.

How much is the room discount per night? Would you get the DDP or eat about what it covers during your trip?

I called today, I was already booked at POR w/ 7day Park Hopper and regular dining plan with a 30% off PIN for our stay. I saved $311 by switching my PIN for the free dining. Just call they will tell you if you will save money with the free dining, never hurts to ask.
