I just saw all of the wonderful, helpful replies to another poster's questions regarding curly hair. So...I'm hoping some of you can help me avoid the ever-so-lovely
Helmet Hair that seems to plaque me when I'm in FL. I lived in FL for 19 years and as a teen with long, straight hair, humidity wasn't an issue. NOW, it's a different story. My hair is thick, cut short, with lots of layers. In order to get any fullness at the crown and side-swept bangs, I have to: apply Big Sexy Hair (trust me, mine is neither
) Root Lift, blow dry, roll with velcro rollers, spray Panteen Curl Lock (correct name?), then lightly tease/lift roots & GLUE with hairspray.
OK, if I don't do all of this, my hair is flat as a pancake and trust me, it's not a flattering look. OK, so living in VA, I have an abundance of Good Hair Days but every time I go back to FL which, is several times a year to visit, if I style my hair, then go for a walk, I come home with the dreaded Helmet Hair - ALSO not a flattering look.
I'm not a baseball cap sort of gal (well, my FACE is not a baseball cap sort of face!
) but I do look alright in other hats. I have my standard "vacation" hat but I'd LOVE to be able to go without a hat if I could find some humidity-resistant styling products. Any suggestions from you dear folks?
