Help me download a ringtone

We have never seen the point in paying for a ringtone when the phone comes with plenty of perfectly good ones. But DW has decided she really wants her ring to be the theme from The Sting. That's what she had on her old phone but it wasn't one of the choices on her new phone.

How do we find a version compatible with her phone?

We have Cingular and the phone is a Samsung x427m.

No idea either...but my son has the theme from INDIANA JONES and wow, that was so cool when his phone rang. He has been away at college so I had no clue he had that ringtone!!! I just heard it when he got home!!! SO NEAT!!!

I bet the Sting will be great!!!

Have you looked on Cingular.com? It's really easy to follow. Just pick your type of phone, the ringtone you want, put in your cell number and it'll text to your phone then show up on your bill.

If it isn't on Cingular's site then I'm no help! Good luck! It took me forever to find a ringtone I wanted.

BEVTOY: When you figure out the Verizon phone I would love to know....I am technically challenged...I will NEVER get it figured out...well at least NOT in this life time anyway.... it was enough just figuring out the cellphone....

Ok what you need to do is go to www.tonethis.com and download the program for free. Then find the mp3 for The Sting and Viola... the program walks you through it. Your phone needs to have internet access and text messaging.

Here is a link to someone that has that song. (MOD's hope thats ok!) If you are going to use tonethis I suggest right clicking on the "Sting" file and saving it to your desktop for easy location.

I too have Verizon and my phone was limited to only The Incredibles" not one of my favs. So I elected to wait. Now it seems that since they now have Disney Mobile phones. My link to downloads Disney rings no longer works. Looks as though they only offer to their phone.

What is with that?????

tone this isnt working for most people no help either. I get to play and it wont play and wont convert... stinks for me

Also, for you other Verizon customers, it is difficult to find ringtones on the website. I just go to "Get It Now" and download some of the apps and start there. With my last Verizon phone (a Samsung as well) I had lots of Disney choices. I also had some good Star Wars ringtones. If you call customer service sometimes you can get someone who really knows what they are talking about and they can walk you through the process.

My son got tonethis to work on his phone and says that he'll put some ringers on my phone, but he's 15yo and smarter than I am with these things. I'm trying to go through my phone (Get it Now) and buy a few ringtones since my Verizon Samsung came with just a few. I have to have different ringers for different people, afterall!

I found a trick that works on most phones... if you have a memo/recorder on your cell, you can record any song you want- or part of a song.. and set that as a ringtone! So you can have anything you want on as a ringtone... you just have to record it loud- maybe need to use speaker phone option while recording, but it works. Just play with it till you get it clear.

You can chose to use it as ringtone or caller id, just chose from each contact if you you need to.
