I'm trying to decide whether we should book a 2 bdrm villa at OKW or BC. BC is our home resort but were thinking of trying OKW. We are a family of 5 and invited a family of 3 to join us. I've researched the differences and leaning toward OKW because of the room size. We are going in 12/6-13/08 do I wait for the 7mo window or just book BC now? Do you think I will have a hard time getting a 2bdrm at OKW?

I wonder if you can even get a 2 bedroom dedicated, to get the 2Q's at BCV right now for that time period, but maybe that's not the one you want. Because of the iffyness of swimming weather I would lean toward OKW anyway because the rooms are larger, and very very spacious. OKW would be fewer points, so if you booked at BCV now, be sure to think about what you would be able to do with the extra points.

My "problem" with OKW is that most of the buildings, have no elevators. Will you have strollers and such to carry up and down steps? My guess is that you could book OKW at 7 months out, and so I would wait. However, I would also be happy at SSR if OKW wasn't available, because they do have the elevators, but maybe you wouldn't want to risk not having either BCV or OKW.

This will be our first trip that both parties will have no stroller to deal with  I don't think we will mind staying at SSR either. They are all great. I just don't want to be SOL and end up w/ nothing. Thanks for you input.

Are your kids going to share the second bedroom with the other family? Or are you going to give up the master bedroom?

I think we will give up the MB. not a big deal, we have 3 kids they only have 1. Our last trip we stayed in a studio and all 3 kids slept on the pull-out even though we had an air mattress.

If you want to try OKW, you can always book BCV and then switch at the 7 month window.

Personally, I love OKW. However, BCV and BWV have a very different feel than OKW and SSR. They are more remote and away from the action. It's more like being tucked away in the middle of nowhere until you choose to be somewhere! :goodvibes I also think there's a noticable difference in the room size. The main living space is bigger and the balcony is huge compared to the other DVC resorts.

As for steps and kids, we've stayed at OKW many times with DS (12) and DD (5). We were there when DD was a couple of months old and when she turned 1. The steps weren't bad at all. You park right at your room, so your only walk is upstairs. Though BCV and BWV have elevators, you still have to walk through the lobby and down the halls.

Thanks for your input - that's exactly what I did this morning. I ended up having to change my dates as my banked points will expire 11/30 and that would be a shame. So for now we are at BVC from 11/8-15
