OKW or WH?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm really torn- OKW 2br/2bath or WH 3BR/3bath? Windsor Hills costs 2/3 less than OKW and has alot nicer amenities, but I'll be with several children. Help!!

Does anyone know how much the shuttle is to the Disney Parks?

If you won't have a car, then the answer is easy: OKW.

If you are willing to rent a car, it could work out. A week at OKW, even in Adventure season, will cost 2160 at the $10/pt rental price, and a 3BR in WH shouldn't be anywhere close to 1400 for a week during that same time. I'd think closer to 1100, or about half the OKW rate. At that price, an extra $200 for a rental car plus another $70 in parking still leaves you with a pretty good deal.

The shuttle isn't that great a deal...$10 per person round trip to any WDW park. At that rate I'd rather have a car and drive. We've used priceline.com our last several trips for the rental car.... in Jan I'm paying $25 per day for a luxury / premium sized car, you could get a slightly smaller car for even less!

Plus, keep in mind then that you can get groceries and avoid eating out for every single meal...big savings in your food budget. We usually eat breakfast at home...carry snacks in soft sided coolers into the parks with us in our stroller....so we don't eat an expensive "park" lunch...and then "splurge" on 1 nice meal out each day.

I can't compare it to OKW but it's hard to imagine a nicer place at these prices, and as close to the parks (or even closer depending on where you're staying) than many of the on resort properties. I can make this argument...for the $$ you will spend staying on a WDW resort property like OKW...my family can take 2-3 whole TRIPS to Windsor Hills! Being a true DISboarder don't you want to go back often? hehe

Very well said! I couldn't agree more!:thumbsup2

how many children and their ages?

if they are over 14 - I would go with OKW - just because they can use the WDW bus system without you.

if everyone is under 14 - then go with offsite and a car - because the kids need you to be with them - at least to enter the parks.

however if one kid wants to go to one park and another kid wants to go to another park - well once you are on WDW property you can use WDW transportation.

I would leave the car at the parking lot where you will end the day (if you stay that long).
