My DH is taking us on a special trip to DLR next summer to celebrate my official retirement from babysitting my grandkids.

I need your help deciding which DLR hotel we should stay in. My DH has health issues that cause him to tire easily. He may want to return to our room to rest for a while.

My question is this: If I make reservations at the GC, would I be able to request a room that is not a long walking distance from the parks? Which of the options would give me the closest rooms? This will be our first stay at any of the DLR hotels, so we do not want an ugly view from our room. Hopefully we can have a room with a nice view but that is also a short walk for him.

Thanks so much.

Shortest distance to DCA would be near the elevators in the east wing.

To DL, anywhere near the elevators. I still like east wing for DL because of the stairwell at the far east end that you can take down but not up. The stairwell takes you right out near the security line by La Brea Bakery.

The GC is definitely close to the parks. I'd choose to be near the east elevators (as others have said) or very close to the main elevators (easier getting back from DL there). There are some very pretty views of DCA by the east elevators. The rooms we have had near the main ones over the lobby didn't really have good views.
