We are planning the following winter for 5 nights in Orlando, split the park time between Universal and Area, and probably 2-3 days in WDW parks. Would we better staying in Values, or getting hotel closer to Universal. We plan on renting a car. I would love to find out about suites or separate living room/bedroom in Universal area. We are hoping for the more cost efficient way. Because it will be January time, we are not concerned about pools etc.

you would be better off financial closer to Universal - but always compare prices.

take that back - all the ones closer to US than WDW are gone

find what you like - go get a certificate from

www.skyauction.com - do florida - then do a search on holiday

the adds say
Skyauction’s Holiday Vacation Blowout Clearance Sale!
7 Night Stay at the Resort of Your Choice
Valid thru APRIL 30, 2009

they are $179 plus $20 fee for a week in a nice timeshare.

Take a look at SpringHill Suites, its a block off of International Drive, which may sound bad at first, but the first time you dont have to fight the traffic of Int'l Drive, I think you'll be pleased. But you're literally one minute away from Intl Drive so your not away from the action at all.

Here's a link to the SpringHill Suites:

I would also highly recommend the Crowne Plaza to you, although I dont think they have the seperate living/sleep areas you want. But here's a link to that hotel as well. Its on the corner of Universal Blvd and Sand Lake Road, just one block off Intl Drive, like SpringHill Suites.

Either way you go, I would suggest hotels that are on Universal Blvd rather than Intl Drive itself, but still VERY close to it.

Hope that helps!
