Help me decide what type of DLH room to stay in

Hi all! Just got back from a wonderful stay, but like all trips there were some not so great moments. The big one for me was wishing I had stayed at DLH instead of GCH as we found ourselves hanging out there more than our own hotel! We love the Trader Sam's vibe, the outdoor seating near Tangaroa with the walkup counter, and the open air aspect of the resort. One of our favorite things to do at GCH previously was to get a cocktail from Hearthstone on a whim, but unfortunately, the way they have it set up now doesn't lend itself to that (doesn't open until 4pm and even then, there always seemed to be a line to get in).

So we have decided next trip, it's DLH all the way. Also, we are thinking the last week of November this year to give that context. It'll just be me and DH for a 3 night stay. We've stayed at DLH once about 6 years ago and had a standard room in the Adventure tower. My only gripe with that room was that it was TINY and the bathroom was a bit dated. It was a king room at the end of a hallway, and a bit too small even for just us. We do like to spend some time in the room. So this time I'm thinking of the options above in the poll (and listed below), these go from least expensive to most expensive within our price range. Choice number 2 is essentially the same price, so I gave them the same ranking.

1) Deluxe view room (DLH side)
2a) Premium view room (DLH side)
2b) Deluxe studio (DLH villas), standard view
3) Deluxe studio (DLH villas), preferred view
4) Deluxe studio garden (DLH villas), sounds like this is a non tower 2 story building next to the pool with a patio or balcony. I love outdoor seating but I worry it wouldn't be so private.
5) Standard view room, Club level (DLH side). This sounds fun, but I'm worried it'll be crowded and not worth the price of food for 2.

ETA: I know the Villas don't open until late Sept, so there is no direct experience yet. The thought of staying in a new room sounds amazing though!

Standard view Club level. That's where I've had my best views and the rooms were really spacious and nice. Also, I just love club level

We just stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and absolutely loved it. We cannot wait to go back.

We stayed in a standard view room- room 2453 on the 6th floor in the Adventureland tower. It was great, because they’ve torn down all of those building in DTD, so we could see Space, Matterhorn, the GCH and we laid in bed and watched the fireworks. On a prior trip, we were in the same building but had a pool view. Our standard view room this trip was massive with a private water closet. It appeared to be freshly renovated. We loved it and I’m so glad I didn’t spend more on a higher room tier.

Depending on when you’re going, the view we just had is awesome- and the Adventureland tower is the best…. Closest to DTD and everything! However, this will change once that start building the new structures in DTD.

I voted for the villa with a view…because it will be new! And it will have a microwave and toaster and fridge. We like to make our own breakfast at the very least in the rooms.

I'd love to vote, but I know absolutely nothing about the villas. It's tempting to choose one of those, but I suspect the square footage of a studio isn't a lot more than what you'd get with a regular room. As crystal1313 noted, it would be new and have nice amenities! It's also on the far side of the resort, though.

I'm greatly intrigued by the pool villas but again, it's farthest from DTD entrance and an unknown as far as noise etc.

For the things known to me, for regular rooms I personally love Adventure tower first and Fantasy second, not having experience with the DVC rooms. I usually book a standard room and request Adventure. If I get Fantasy, I ask for a room on the DTD end (not the DVC end).

A really nice splurge, though, is a suite in Frontier. You get a pool view and a double window wall, and sometimes a balcony (top floor). It's fabulous and often has a small kitchen and an extra half bath.

For me, concierge is fun but not worth the money. I'd have to drink a lot of beer and mimosas to get my money's worth, ha ha, because I don't like the food, or at least I didn't like it when I was there in Dec. Prior to that, I'd enjoyed the offerings in concierge but at the current price point, I don't find it worthwhile for the food. I could argue, however, that the splurge factor might be worth it. Concierge is really nice when you have several in your party because then you really can justify the extra cost, lol! We did it as a family of 5 and we used it for meals and snacks. We'd make croissant sandwiches for lunch later in the parks out of the morning offerings and take along some fruit. You can catch the monorail back for snacks etc and you can go for dinner, dessert, or both. Of course, it's unlikely you'd do all of it since there's, you know, the parks...

DLH lovers unite!

I was really tempted to book a villa for our Halloween trip (we ended up going with September anyway so it turned into a moot point), but for some reason I don't like the look of the new villas as much. I think we've just enjoyed the classic rooms so much I don't want to change. That and I enjoy being able to look at DtD when I'm up in the night or in the early morning.

My vote - Club Level all the way. It's a totally elevated experience and worth every penny to us.

You really can't go wrong though, it would be cool to stay in a brand new room.

Thank you for the opinions everyone! We are almost settled on doing club level. We will be extending to have a non park day, so I think we could really take advantage (and will even on park days). We also seem to miss fireworks frequently, so it'll be nice to have the option to view from the club.

Does anyone have recent pictures of the food offerings, or can link to a good review or video? Also, sounds like beer and wine is available all day? I do love mimosas!

ETA: if someone has the current beer and wine list, I'd appreciate that too! I found one on a website, but wasn't sure if it was updated (since they also mention Mickey waffles in the article, which I know are sadly gone)
