Hi we are going for a quick summer trip to Disney/SeaWorld. We are only doing one park (epcot) with a left over hopper, but decided to use up all our old Water Park tickets/ Disney Quest. So we are going Mid july and staying at a Marriott Cypress Harbour for four nights ( we had a package already booked in Myrtle beach, and they let us switch!) So we are going to spend just three nights at Disney and we can't decide between POP and SSR. It will costs us only $20 dollars more to stay in a SSR Studio because we have a friend who will rent us DVC. SSR is the only thing available at this time.

So my question is, should we do SSR over POP if we are a family of four and will be staying in a Studio vs a room at POP. My main concern is the bedding because SSR has a queen and a sofa, but I don't know how comfy the Sofa is for two kids 8&10. We are tempted because I understand that SSR has a nice pool with a slide and I know POP does not. Since we will be relaxing by the pool, I was thinking we need a good pool, but then again we will be going to the water parks so we may be pooled out.

Can I get some pros and cons for both resorts. Thanks!

To me it is an easy decision and I would go with SSR. The facilities and room are much nicer (and newer) and your 8 and 10 year olds might be beyond getting "wow'ed" by the decorations at Pop. We really enjoyed our stay at SSR and several of the pools were alot of fun. My $0.02 worth.

I admit I'm biased --I own at SSR-- but here's my 2 cents:

Deluxe over value. Hands down you take the deluxe resort without a second thought. We stayed in a studio for 10 days last June with 2 kids (13 & 10 at the time). It was no tighter than a regular room, the sofa bed was very comfy and it was great to have the fridge & microwave.

SSR is a beautiful resort. Pools are great, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball court, community hall with kid activities. It's a great resort for a "relaxing" vacation :goodvibes

We're staying at SSR in a few weeks (YEAH!!!) and I am excited about spending a couple days at the resort swimming as well as doing some of the activities atthe Community Hall. Also, boat or walk to DTD... perfect if you're not hittting the parks!

Def. vote for SSR, esp. when spending a lot of time at the resort.

Those sofa beds are much more comfy than ever expected - even for adults, Kids will be nice and comfy!

Have fun!!

If possible, take the deluxe (SSR) over a value any day! :goodvibes Esp for the price difference you are stating.

One more in agreement, here. There really is no contest. SSR anyday of the week.

My vote is SSR as well. I have teenagers and they are very comfortable on the sofa bed. Walking distance to DTD & having a microwave in the room are 2 big pluses.

I would choose SSR because it has more to offer if you plan to hang out at the resort and it is quite close to downtown disney with leaves you with a lot of dining options that you will not have to travel far for.

I agree SSR...we stayed there last year and loved it! If your going to do the pool, SSR is definitely the way to go, the main pool (where the slide is) has a zero entry and is huge, plus there's 3 other pools.

There's also several playgrounds, it's a boat-ride away from DTD and the grounds (and rooms) are nice! After all it's a deluxe.

Thank you all for your responses!! We are a booked at SSR! We are exicited about all your positive reviews of SSR!! Thanks again!

I have only stayed at Pop, but for $20 more it sounds like you are probably getting a better deal at SSR. I've never been there or seen what the rooms are like, but I would assume there would be more room and sounds like more amenities.
