help me decide my pinewood derby car

Help me decide ----
Every year my DS does a pinewood derby car – and they let the adults build their own car and race --- last year I did the Oscar Myer wiener-mobile VERY CUTE!!! I was the only mother to build one --- and i did it all by myself!
this year I am thinking of either doing a SMART CAR _because I so want a smart car – but know I will never get one – but I think might be tough to build
Or I was thinking of doing the Disney monorail or a Disney Bus (magical express or the park bus)
What do you think?

I wish our pack had let the adults build and race cars. My DH would have been so excited. He helped DS with his cars, but it's not the same as building your own. I like your idea of the Disney bus or monorail. That will be cool.

Another idea since it's an Olympics year is a bob sled. My DS did this one year and it was a really cool car. He used lego guys as the racers in it. It won the most creative award that year and it was fast and he got to race at the council race as well. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it.

we can not do a car either. my husband would love that!
we actually are just starting to work on bubbas car. we just got the rules last night!
it's our first time at it. i can't wait to see how he does with it!

My son and I started his pinewood derby car tonight and after looking at tons of pics for ideas, he decided he wanted to do a monorail car. He chose Monorail Yellow and can't wait to get started on the painting. We are modeling it after the front car, not the whole train. I couldn't figure out how to cut out the bottom middle without my rotary tool, but the basic design still looks cool. We picked up some white glossy spray paint for the body, grey model paint for the windows, and "banana yellow" for the call colors. I'll try and post a pic once it's done.
