We always do WDW, I was looking for something different this trip...but both my kids (7 and 8) do not meet height req't for Dueling Dragons, Dr Doom Fearfall and Hulk..there are also 3 rides that get you very wet and we're going in December...I'm thinking it might be cold. Avg temp is 63. We're also staying on property at WDW so I'm worried about lines at IOA with no benefit of express pass... Should I pass on IOA this trip or is it REALLY worth it and different?

IOA is just beautiful all decorated for Christmas. Grinchmas is quite Marvy. Suess Landing's decorations are just gosh darn quirky I love it!

If you have a dollar store near you pick up some ponchos for the water rides. I hate a wet butt, even in the heat of summer, so we wrap a poncho around our waists all year long, and in the winter we would wear another one to cover the top parts. All of the water rides are pretty much next to each othter so once you have hit them all, toss the cheap ponchos away. Rip saw is wonderful, and Bluto Bilge barge rafts (I think that is the title) is way more thrilling than Kali at AK.

And Spiderman... what can I say about Spiderman... That's worth the trip right there.

So My advice it to Arrive early. Go Left to Spiderman then back track to Suess landing and work your away around that way, hitting Spidey again on the way out.

I guess this means I think it's worth it.

Thank you! It sounds like a good time...I see a good deal online for 2 parks $65 for FL resident (which one member of our party is... and can purchase up to 4 tix) so we could fit in some of Universal if there isn't enough at IOA. :dance3: I'm sold. Thank you!

Over at the Universal Studios Park, I could ride MIB, Jaws, and Simpsons all day and still not be bored.

Jimmy Newtron and Shrek are right at the enterence of US and boys your kids age would LOVE both of those attractions also.

We have been able to do everything we want at IOA before lunch (arrive at opening and have a late lunch) at Margaritaville then jumped over to US and done just those two rides.

As the other poster mentioned MIB and Simpsons are also worth the price of addmisson over there.

grab those tickets at that price!!!!!

you can do both parks with them.

how tall are your children?
are they coaster kids?

for me, and i am well over the age of 8, get the biggest kick out of seussland.
the ambiance there puts you in a happy mood.
the rides are good but listen to the song on red fish blue fish to avoid the water squirts..

ioa has discovery center if your kids are into that type of thing
check out the interactive map on universalorlando.com for more details about it. also you can check out the rides/attactions at ioa.

the studios side has more than a few that could entertain the kids for an afternoon.

shrek, jaws, jimmy neutron, MIB, simpsons, T2 show, ET, disaster, horror make up show is another winner, at least to me....

you don't have to be concerned over height requirements on those rides.

if you can do a day at universal for a change of pace from disney, give it a try.

like they say in the vegas tv commercial.....

you know you wannna.......

Remember, FL Resident tics have to be bought online. There is no way to buy them at the gate.
