DH doesn't want to camp in our pop up at Disney as he thinks it would be too hot, not having a bathroom, etc. So, I guess I will have to by an AC for the pop up. But can someone post some pictures of the comfort stations? I am assuming since it is Disney these are much nicer than state park ones. Thanks!

So I just found a link to comfort station pictures. Are all of them remodeled now?

No, but personally I didn't think they needed to be remodeled and I am probably in the minority, but I am not all that impressed with the renovations. The earth tone tiles are okay, but they made the shower enclosures smaller. The stations by the 1600 loop are still the old style, and I am okay with Disney leaving them alone.

Tell your husban that he can buy a new TV to put in the trailer when you take it to Disney that workwed for me I bought a 20" LCD HDTV and surround DVD system to hook up to it for our trip to WDW in 07. I also get my 2 bedroom villa directly after the camping portion also mind you that wasn't much of a consession as the kids really want to stay at SSR also.

Hmmm - after reading your many posts on this forum, I am concluding:

1. You don't like camping

2. You are DVC members and would prefer to stay at SSR.

Hmm pretty much bang on LOL. Mind you I am camping at Disney to appease my wife and her desire to camp there again after not having camped at FW since 1994. What a great hubby I am LOL mind you the concessions I recieved for this are worth it to LOL. To be honest I would rather stay at any resort than FW even if it was off property yes I said it off property that is how much I dislike camping.

To the OP....well, I wouldn't camp in the heat in Flordia without an AC. If you are going at a hot time you would have to have it. As far as the comfort stations, we have not camped at FW yet but by all accounts they are nice and clean. I would not expect less from Disney! Tell him I think he should at least TRY camping. We will be tent camping in November!!

Look at a weather history of Orlando and see what the weather averages. Also realize that worst humidity problems will hopefully be over. Not sure how to convince him about the restrooms. We always use our in-popup toilet and shower when camping. Does he normally camp with you at other campgrounds or is camping your thing.

Personally, I prefer camping in the hotter summer months; as the song goes (or went...showing my age) "some like it hot".

I don't know if you have kids or not but if you do FW is the only place to stay. We take our bikes to ride around the campground. Kids just naturally want to explore and FW is one of the few places they can have a little freedom to do this without having to worry. It's a big place and there are lots of interesting things to do/see that don't cost anyting (a big plus if he is watching the budget); movies at night, sing-a-long, random activities, 2 pools (old fashioned big pools, not the kiddie things they make today), fishing, renting boats, sitting on a sandy beach watching the fireworks, meeting a lot of friendly people, walking through the campground just looking at how beautiful it is, the "free ride" on the boats back and forth to mk/resorts (one of my favorite things to do at night), and there are bike trails you can actually take that go all the way around to visit other resorts.

Also, the social aspect of camping in WDW. Not only do kids have a better chance of making new friends to play with (which we all know makes them enjoy it more and complain less), but adults at FW are in general more social than other places.

I've camped in a tent in Oct at Disney and it was just fine...cool enough at night you didn't even need the fan we took with us.AND just seeing all the Christmas decorations everyone brings for the sites is enough incentive to want to stay there...its like a mini Christmas City Disney Style..What fun! The comfort stations I have NEVER found dirty and i've never waitied in line but have seen others who posted who have...GO and have a BLAST!!!!! :mickeyjum :donald: :tink: :ccat: :hmghost: :goofy: :sulley:
