help me choose

i agonized over the same decision and chose Randy Chapman. It was more money since dis was included in the intimate package, but i would have ordered the proofs ($225) and probably reprints (dis 8 x 10 are $30 vs Chapman's $20) plus i got a cd from Randy for no extra ($75 for a low res disney) so I probably would have spent more when all was said and done with disney. But really I knew the Randy pics would be great, they were more creative and not the cut and paste pictures i was afraid of getting from disney. When i saw the pictures from Randy I was thrilled and I would HIGHLY reccommend him.

A lot of people have used DPS and were completely satisfied. Personally, I thought their package prices were high considering you don't book a specific photographer. If you find a photographer whose style you like, you should try to use them. If you are a custom you have to decide whether you need to use Disney to meet your minimums.

i would love to use randy but i dont know if ill make my minimum /c i dont know how many people can come and he needs me to reserve! thats why i ask about disney :confused3

If my DH and I had the money at the time of our wedding, I would have chosen an outside vendor. Our photographer wasn't personable took the most akward shots and made us stand where we were squinting into the sunlight and what realllllly peeved me about the pictures they chose. There were pictures taken of us with my family, his family, and then both families. The "wonderful" photographer was so nice to pick the photo with DHs family, not mine or the complete family. Real nice....

I'd also like to mention, with Disney's photography we did receive a CD that we weren't charged for, the pictures aren't very large, but you can print pictures off your own computer from the CD

OK... I'm not a wedding photographer, but I hope to be one someday. I have a family member who is a photographer, and I learned from him that unfortunately, if the sun is a factor, they must make you face it. Otherwise, if the sun was behind you, the picutes wouldn't come out properly. However, I know what you mean about the squinting factor... We had to face the sun for a few of our wedding pictures, and I absolutely love them... except for the fact that my DH looks mad because he is squinting.

All that being said...
If I were so lucky to be married in Florida, I would definately choose Randy Chapman over Disney Photography. Randy's pictures are always beatiful!

randy chapman not only came out cheaper than disney for us (10 hours+) but is the style (photojournalistic) we wanted for our wedding. i say go with your gut, disney does nice photos but you dont get to choose your photographer. with randy i knew who/what i was getting & we preferred his style (we wanted traditional & photojournalistic) & the many inclusions within our package. as for the minimums you'd be surprised how fast you get there & surpass it.

best of luck.

YES! I am SO with you here. I FORGOT about the 12 pictures they chose. THEY WERE THE WORST ONES! I feel like since WE are paying...WE should chose the 12 pictures! There was NONE NONE NONE of my whole wedding party in the album. And there were 2 of DH by himself! Huh? No offense...if you are choosing 12...why 2 of DH alone? AND one of the CAKE alone. Silly choices. Well, not for Disney b/c that forces me to buy others...

Oh...and we did not get the CD either...AND it was in our contract!

:hourglass how much advance notice did you have to give randy? we need to wait and see if we can make our minimum

I would go ahead and contact him now. Just to see what is his availability for those dates.
