Help me choose restaurants...

Hi -


...for lunch and dinner at IOA or CityWalk.

Most of our vacation is spent at WDW but we do like to visit IOA for a day. Have never tried any of the restaurants there. We're a party for 6 (4 adults. 2 kids) who will eat anything.

Can you guys please suggest some places that we should try. I'm thinking of doing a lunch and a dinner there.

Our main concern is finding a place to eat dinner where we won't feel out of place in shorts after a long hot day in the park but that will be somewhat relaxing.

Most definitely do Mythos for lunch. I think you will find it the equal of the best WDW has to offer.

As to dinner, the parks may not be open late enough, depending on when you plan to go. Check park hours before heading out.

There are plenty of good dinner spots in CityWalk, however, and early closing will not be a problem there. CityWalk, BTW, is just steps away from the entrances to both Universal parks.

Most people at Universal are in shorts. You'd feel out of place if you were in a suit!

I would do most Citywalk restaurants. Margritaville is good, but crowded and sometimes noisy. I like the Latin Quarter. Pastamore never seems too crowded, but the food isn't great.

Mythos for lunch, NBA city or Pastamore' for dinner.

BTW the 2 times I've eaten at Pastamore' it was packed and the food was great.

CityWalk offers a dinner and a movie special for $18 which we thought was pretty fair value for adults - kids are best ordering normally. We each had the mixed appetizers at the Motown Cafe and I was the only one able to eat their entire order and then went over to see Harry Potter. It was a great way to end our day at Universal.

Where do you purchase the dinner/movie deal? Do all the Citywalk restaurants participate?

as you're walking from the parking garage, you'll see a kiosk with the meal and movie deal posters on it. buy them there.

The kiosk you pass only promotes the meal and movie deal - they will direct you to guest relations over to the side where you can make your purchase. Many of the City Walk restaurants participate but menu selections were limited. We picked Motown based on their offerring.

If nothing appeals on meal and a movie, check out the other offers or menus - lots of selection at City Walk.

the limited selection can be a downfall. i know one of my favorite things to get at Hard Rock isnt on the list (or at least wasnt at last check) and that's their chicken fajitas.

What movie theatres (names such as AMC etc..) are at Universal??? I want to purchase some movie passes before I leave..

Lowes Cineplex. There's a Cinemark about 5 miles away next to the Belz Factory Outlet Mall, but is not involved in any Universal promotions.

Enchanted Oak for lunch and NBA City for dinner. You must go to NBA City, I have been everywhere in CityWalk and it is by far the best.
